Yep, it's a pretty annoying situation.. Good luck if it's a regular speed tournament and blinds just don't grow...

What i also was thinking. Free money whats not to enjoy.
One time i was playing some freeroll and a whole table sit out and i was so excited to collect all the chips for like 10 minutes man.
from my understanding that's a HU sit'n'go. Yeah, what not to enjoy in sitting there for 10 min+ clicking the same button every 5 seconds for less than 2x buy-in prizepool lol

Obviously you weren't in this situation . Because it's way easier to get this money by actually playing it, rather than because of the sitting out opponent getting it "for free" (minus your time, attention going from the other tables to this one and the building-up annoyance as a result) ;)

Im not sure about if its easier to get those money by playing it. I mean come on. Out of 10 sit n go like this how many you can win on a regular basis?
Wel if you bored open another table and click this sit n go for the win every 5 second. Dunno. Sounds like fun for me.
Tho i dont usually buy in for heads up sit n gos. That does not sound like fun in the first place.

How can you have almost 300BB, when the heads-up SnGs on Stars give each player 75BB as a starting stack? Other than this conundrum, if you feel like showing some sportsmanship, you can play slowly for a while and give the guy a chance to show up. But other than that just enjoy the easy win and then buy into another one :)

I don't play Heads-Up at all. I even have a filter so as not to show them.

The gift tokens are worth rejoicing about. If you might Deep the HU you can still consume your opponent with quick calls.

That's I'm happy with easy money.

In that case maybe he gave up and decided to settle for second, because you had such a massive chip lead? I still fail to see, why this was annoying to you. You were sure to win, and its much faster to just steal his blinds than having to play out in a normal way.

I had it happen to me at least once, and maybe twice, but aside from it being a little tedious...a win is a win. :)

Okay, I give out my reasoning why it sucks for those of you who missing it.

Like fundiver199 said, he gave up probably because I had a massive lead and go afk with 10-15bb or so when it still four players left on the table. And he ended up 2nd. Not bad for a "gave up" guy who was out for 1/4 of a match and not so much of a honor for two others (and me as well) who actually play and try to win. This whole "sitting out to win" consept is too common in online poker and offensively unfair to the real players.

Also one time I was in the similar situation and go for "sitting out" as well. I had a chip lead and eventually the game would win itself. And when I've come back to check, ofcourse I found that scrub busy stealling my stack. So I can't even leave it as it is, I must sit here like a watchdog for a hell knows how long while other guy minding his own business. Just in case. If that what it means to be a winner for you guys then who I am to judge.

Well thats a fair point. And yes its somewhat disturbing.
But still, a guy won enough chips to get to final 4. You gota give him credit for that. And if he was 2nd in chips then its even more fair.
And also what difference would that make, if he was there and fold every hand manually, except for some AA KK stuff shoving those in and winning even more chips.
Okay, I give out my reasoning why it sucks for those of you who missing it.

Exactly. Its not like, second in chips sitting out made it more difficult for the shorter stacks to level up. In fact it made it easier, unless he was completely clueless about ICM and payjump implications ;)
