We don't know how long we'll have to keep hearing the word Coronavirus and it looks like we'll be talking about the virus for some time. With all this scenario, poker players have been very worried and speculated on the subject. Daniel Negreanu said he believes this is the time for the United States to legalize online poker. Furthermore, the representative of GGPoker also said that he believes that due to the cancellation of live tournaments, online platforms will take advantage of the opportunity to hold large events. In particular, I think the same, there are times of change due to COVID19. At the moment we will keep up to date to see what happens.;):)

I don’t even know, to feign epidemics in order to legalize online poker is not a good idea. And I think that there are more than enough other problems in connection with such a situation in the world.

This is a very lousy idea - legalization of poker due to grief and suffering of the population! To achieve legalization you need to use completely different methods and means.

I don't think it will happen but crazier things have happened. Online poker is a good distraction I suppose. :p

I think that the legalization of poker in the USA, the increase in online players is good for poker. But the fact that players can’t play live in the tournament is now unlikely to be a reason for legalization. This needs to be done simply so that people have a choice and they can decide where to play and what to do with their money. I believe that adults are capable of this.

Not happening. It's only good, if multiple states do it, they won't. Therefore it's terrible.

In the "Land of the Free" we should be allowed to gamble safely online. I don't see any legal difference in brick and mortar casinos and regulated online play. But because of casino lobbyist and "holier than thou" politicians, I don't see the laws changing in the next few years.

They just legalized sports betting in Michigan, so I'm not sure why they haven't let Americans back in the poker game yet. I bet they will be taking our money again soon enough ;):2in1::2in1::2in1:

I don't think there is any reasonable prospect of this happening unless a large segment of our congress and the white house too can figure out how to steal from it somehow .... then their moral arguments would melt away ......

I think that the legalization of online poker should be as it makes people think and develop and this is useful especially during the coronavirus because I think that this is not only possible but also necessary

I don't think they are going to legalize it any time soon. Especially seeing that they just handed out stimulus money to everyone. The last thing they want to have happen is everyone gambling with that money instead of paying their bills.

The right has been paid(by casino lobbyist) rather largely to NOT legalize it. There isnt any in favor of it and as long as they control one house or the other it wont change. the only hopes is them same lobbyist decide to creatre a few sites and guess it could depend on a few things. like how long this will last as i dont see us getting back to a semi normal til fall if then. So by and large they are LOSING a shit ton of money

Across the entire country, I don't think so. Maybe on a state by state basis is going to pick up some steam but I doubt it.

I would like to add. It is necessary to legalize poker in all countries and give the opportunity to earn money for those who are able to do so. Unfortunately, our politicians only think about their pockets and how to fill them tighter without paying attention to ordinary citizens.

As others have said this is not the time to push for such an idea- it's tactless as people are dying everyday and the authorities have huge problems to solve. In fact the very mention of it is counterproductive.

No one is going to propose new legislation regarding gambling in the middle of such a crisis.

However, the longer term view is looking positive. The path to broader acceptance remains with individual states. Whilst there is little chance every state will authorize online poker there has been such momentum for more and more states to allow online activity, many states will come under pressure for refusing it.

the point is not that the United States legalizes online poker, in fact that is not a problem for the US Senate. The problem itself is that online poker companies pay the taxes required by the US government. USA, There is the problem.

I do not know if this information is accurate or not, but if this happens, then all the regular players in the USA will be just happy.
