Thanks to everyone who joined these discussions about the differences between online and live poker because I breathed a little with relief that not only I feel this mass of different emotions, which often boils down to the feeling of being cheated, I wish you all a nice weekend. greetings

Live poker rocks. online poker also rocks. There are, really, only a few differences that matter, imo. Online they display the amount of chips/bb's, which is a plus since you don't have to request a chip count. You can play more than one table online. Online play, also, allows you play many more hands in the same amount of time which may seem like you're losing/winning more hands. There's no social stigma to worry about online, unless you're a pr!ck or something. The main difference, imo, is that when you're through playing in a live situation you can get up from the table and leave w/your winnings.
The common denominator is that the swings are the same.

online poker is for any type of player, strong, weak, everyone has the chance to play and win. when you play live, the story changes. It's hard to find fans at live tables.

I haven't had to play live from stories I know there are differences. The main thing is that the game is slower than online.

when you play live poker, the game is very different because there is no rng. I noticed such a fact if two aces came to you and they resisted then after some time two more aces, then the third time you will be run over by 88 77 99 this happens very often. because it seems to me that the random number generator equalizes the chances of everyone at the table. it turns out in live poker if you are lucky you won't be stopped and in online poker you will be stopped by a random number generator.

I'm not sure if you can put it into words but in live poker I can "feel" certain actions of the opponent. I think you can compare that to gut feeling. I have no idea what exactly is happening but maybe very sensitive people feel certain vibrations when the opponent is excited, nervous or trying to bluff.
If this all sounds absurd, I can use dolphins as an example. They also communicate by vibration ;)

I think looking at the game size and entry fee is important to the level of game you want to play. I like live games for the social part and seeing the player’s reaction to certain moves

As I said in another post, I only play live poker with my friends and I find the way the game develops very different. Maybe the online game is not manipulated, but it ends up being a little "Artificial" since for it to happen it depends on a series of pre-written algorithms that need all the data on the table to calculate the winner. as this data is recorded in a database, the statistics of the way of playing of each one are also recorded, making it possible, yes, the automatic manipulation of the hands in the game. Whenever money is at stake, there is the possibility of data manipulation. But this is just an opinion.

Currently, physical poker and virtual game rooms coexist in their respective spaces and offer players several alternatives to enjoy each one in different ways, live poker is still very present in casinos and game rooms around the world. world. It is a game with a very powerful strategic aspect, where mastery of body language is essential to opt for victory and prevent other players from discovering your cards, on the other hand, online poker is based on immediacy, on adaptation to the beats and mental agility.

I think so. Live has many more factors that interfere with the game.

My live poker experience is not very high. I only play once or so. But my online experience is very long. The cards and the betting process its the same. But if i talked to people which have online and offline experience they say there are some difference. In online poker there are less tells in the game. You could variance the acting of play but then it is the end of telling in online poker. In live poker you have tells and this is a another level of poker.

I have been playing poker for many years. and the more it becomes that some are dealt against all science and the rules of the game of poker. The longer I play, the more I feel cheated by the poker rooms. Playing live never the game plays like in the rooms. Often times, no tactic or knowledge of poker matters at all. do you think so too?
yes it its by a mile, you are more likely to have more bad beats online vs live, and if your memory isn't sharp and you don't collect notes there are players who uses huds to their advantage, they will have info on your playstyle and betting style that you wont have on hand when making important decisions

as a recreational player I prefer live over online poker, HUDs are the enemy of us , HUDs should be used only between regs

Hi.
The difference between playing live and playing online is huge. However, I prefer to play online and my results so far are completely satisfactory. At the moment, everything is going according to my plan, step by step.
Good luck.

Undoubtedly, it is very different, presence exists the tell, movements that are repeated in the player's expression, online you can only take care of the actions, not the expressions, I play both and I assure you, it changes a lot...

Online poker and offline are very different. You can play multiple tables online, so the chances that your good hands will move are much higher than when you sit at the same table offline.

100% agree with you.

Live poker is much more enjoyable. Recreational players just can't hide a big hand. Which is just as well as I'm not a master of the tell.

You have access to more information about your opponents when playing live. You can judge them based on their body language, the stress in their voices, and how much alcohol they've consumed. Another significant difference is the slower pace of live poker, which prevents you from passing the time by tending to your other tables. Live poker might not be for you if you have a tendency to get impatient. Additionally, live opponents frequently play somewhat differently from what you are accustomed to seeing online, where you play matters. Even today, it is still feasible in some places to participate in a casino tournament and discover that the majority of your competitors have little to no expertise playing online poker. Some of them find online gambling repulsive. Some of them would mock internet poker players and assume right away that if you play poker online, you must not know how to play in a real world games.
