Yeah neural net chatbots can appear to be more human than the likes of ones a decade ago but the best a bot can do is play a game perfectly with the information it has using current game theory. It's possible I suppose if you have enough processing power you can have a bot that learns how its opponents play and work around that but it would require time and money and still never be as good as a human.Considering they now have computers that can beat a master at chess (which was once thought impossible) I would imagine that a well programmed bot could do above average. They also use bots for stock market buying and selling. As someone with an interest in computer programming I recently had an article appear in my news feed about writing a stock market bot. It's an interesting subject. I would be interested to see how a poker bot could do against a real person. In Super System, Doyle posits that a computer will never be as good as a person. But a lot has changed since his era. They even now have text bots that respond and act like a regular person and you wouldn't even realize you're chatting with a bot.
