Has anyone here done this? Here is my plan to circumvent Australia's draconian online poker laws. Can't believe it has been 22 years since I played online poker. Set up a private proxy server on a web host and an online bank account possibly in ireland.

This can not be done on all poker rooms. Some track the player's location. This is exactly the case with poker stars

The problem with it is...even when the vpn isn't detected ...when you withdraw money it will get complicated. When they ask you about a bill of adress . Actually easier to move than this

Exactly. If OP dont work or can work online, then he can just do, what a lot of poker players from western countries have already done: Move to a country in South East Asia like Thailand, Vietnam or Philippines, and then play from there :)

Doesn't have to be Asia though. Many live in Malta I believe.

A proxy will allow you to bypass the application blocking, for this you will need to create a connection to a remote server (computer) through your computer, thus forming a separate network through an intermediary Internet. The proxy forwards all client requests, processes and sends the result back. It sounds a little abstruse, but there will be no problems in implementation, since the procedure for connecting to a proxy server is elementary. So, the first way is to run pokerstars through a proxy using specialized programs. In the first place, among all programs that allow you to run Internet applications through a proxy, is FreeCap. This utility allows you to easily and quickly set up a connection by some manipulations in its menu.

Asia is just obvious, if you are from Australia. Its nearby, and both Thailand and Philippines allow foreigners to essentially stay, as long as they want, on a tourist visa. You might need to make a socalled "visa run" every year or two, where you are out of the country for 24 hours, but thats about it. Malta on the other hand is part of Schengen, and an australian citizen need a residence permit to stay there for more than 90 days at a time. Elky is dutch, so he dont need a residence permit on Malta.

Worst idea ever. U are risking ur funds and a lifelong ban. Play on Apps, ignition and WPN from Australia and thats it.

Please dont ask here or on other poker forums about breaking the TOS of Pokerrooms or circumvent any laws.

Mods should delete this thread imo.

I agree. Its a bad look for the community.

Or maybe close it and explain, that questions about breaking the TOS of poker sites are not welcome. PokerStars is after all a business partner of CC hosting the bulk of their freerolls, so this is completely reasonable :)
