I love playing for play money. It's a lot of fun and usually quite social. A lot of Americans (who are often quite good players) play for play money at pokerstars.
No, it makes no sense to me. There's one important component missing - value. People don't play seriously for play money, and it may weaken your game, cause you are used to those type of players (no offense tho for play money players) and when switch up to real money, I'm sure it will be hard to get used to.
I like playing poker but not for play money. Play money tends to make people too reckless and all-in on every hand and that's no fun. Playing for play money is like dealing the cards face up and everyone sees...no fun.
I do not play for play money. There is no sense of responsibility and a real game. Everything is conditional and easy to put any amount at autopsy. This is not serious. Only then you realize the game when you really lose your earned money.
Yes, because it encourages training on various factors of the game, training of memorizing, training of concentration, and several factors that help to improve the game.
After a 10+ year hiatus from holdem, I played several days of play money. Once my head was back in the game, I switched to freerolls. As soon as I get a few more kinks out of my game, I will edge my way into cash games (starting with my fr winnings).
No, I can't make sense of it, because the players don't take it seriously and play in a childish way.
I prefer to play when it's for money, I think there is more seriousness
I don't like it very much, because I'm a beginner who is studying the game, and in fictitious money the calls are not the same if it were with real money.
