A format where Play Money is useful

Its difficult to find a format where people take play money seriously but I think that the top level of the Grand Tour (pokerstars) you can actually find a decent amount of opponents who play this quite seriously for play money. This makes it useful for practice.

Is it possible to improve your game by playing with play money?
I still need to improve my game before starting to play with real money. I deposited 45 bucks on tree dif platforms ( with bonuses it's around 70 bucks) but with no return in the investment. I learned a lot but not enough, should i stick to freerolls and play money before depositing again. I also started studying with blogs, guide's, forum's etc.
I think the best way to learn and improve your poker skills is playing on low stakes, because its a different game than playing with play money. Everyone is playing more safe and nobody risks as much as they do in play money games. :top:

I had a lot of learning by playing with play money. It gives you the understanding you need, if you look away from the persons who just go all in, but these people are still there with real money 💰🙄🙂

At the beginning I believe that this can help a lot to get used to poker, to be able to automate thinking to read the range of opponents

This. I can understand how some, who do not pay a lot of attention believe people do not take play money seriously, but it is not the case.

The easiest access point is MTTs on PokerStars at even the lowest levels. As the buyins are 10,000 chips after an inital flurry of activity (admitedly often silly) the tournamnets settle and people play seriously. Heading towards a final table, people are definitely sharp and committed.

Play money games are much better learning vehicles that freerolls. People play "play money" games because they want to learn and practice. People play "freerolls" because they're free. There's a HUGE difference.

Pretty sure most of us started out with play money. In my opinion it is of no value once you've learned the basics of the game. There are people who use play money to waste time and irritate everyone else. Some of these do the same in freerolls, the biggest difference is sites require players to fully register for real money accounts before they get access to freerolls.

I think playmoney is not playable since people do not care about any results. Random allins with 5 7 or smthn is standard. I don't like it, but that is probably only my opinion. :)
