It is completely ridiculous! Actually playing playchip games period is a complete waste of time... it does not even remotely resemble the real game of poker. (I'd rather play crazy 8's)

I don't know...have not played on Pokerstars for LONG time...not since real money in states was closed...I did play for money and wondered why they didn't sell play chips...some people (especially in US) can only play play chips...I could see buying some...dropping $20 to be able to play larger tables...maybe...If you play a lot and are low on chips maybe from bad streak or whatever...really no different than buying a game on Play Store...when I was playing you could only bring 40k to table...I just logged in to my old account and now they have all kinds of tables now...I still have a shitload of chips so I have played a bit...just logged in because I wanna play league play here at CC...

My personal observation is that many people prefer to play poker without wanting to risk losing a lot of money and as a result, to master the most important tactics and strategies. play money you you add 1000000 chips for $ 20 for example.

Funny story, I actually sold 1,000,000 play chips for one dollar. I was a young kid in high school and my older brother's friend played on fulltilt. I wound up making an account to play for play chips, and my brother's friend mentioned that you could sell them online. I forget now where i sold them, as this was close to ten years ago, but it was funny at the time. I was so proud of that dollar, which I then promptly lost haha.

Exactly that! Zynga makes money from players buying play chips, so Pokerstars thought why not

Also if you google "selling pokerstars play chips" you will find a site, I dont know if its a scam or not, that buys your play chips. So maybe play chips can have some value after all.

I can tell you exactly why they sell play money chips. Because it is extremely profitable for them. There are a lot of countries that are not allowed to play real money poker. USA is a huge one and this makes up a majority of players playing for play chips. I used to play a lot at wsop App on ipad. Seemed like lots of people willing to pay for chips and lose them, just for the sake of playing. I found the ring games especailly to be rediculous on play money sites. You literally will never have a heads-up pot unless you go all-in preflop.. people just limp in any cards from any position. People just spew chips and keep buying. There is probably some good players that the chips will eventually funnel towards.

They even run a Sunday BILLION tournament where you buy-in for play chips which is suppose to be the play version of the Sunday Million

This is tooooooooo funny! I learned to play on Pokerstars. With Play money. I was tooooooooooo scared to play with real money SO i bought 100 bux a month in playmoney LOL then one day I invested a bux someone sent me in a sng I won and its been cash ever since.
