I work a lot usually 5 days a week 12 hour shifts and the card room is a drive from my house. Have any of you ever got into a situation where you have to play online poker to substitute live cash games. I am a recreational player but I play most weekends and I do interactive quizzes and have read a few poker books.

I would recommend playing poker as a hobby, but there is still an opportunity to win big money. And do not leave work, since poker is more excitement and luck, and not a win-win money making :icon_sant

Playing online would be much better as you can get more volume in. Would be hard to play live when you can’t play much on weekends since you would also want to spend some time off poker. Most my friends play zoom since they want to get more volume in. I usually like to play online reg tables instead of live play. I mostly play home games and go to local casino once a week.

I would say it is better because it promotes greater comfort for you to stay on the sofas in our homes and at no cost to get around

Yes I think online is much better, as you have the freedom to come and go and you please, rather than having to commit to a significant amount of time if you go to the trouble of traveling to the live card room. Also, the games are quicker online so you can get more volume in per hour.

For me, work should go one way, and poker another. If they mix, there will surely be problems. You cannot do both well. I've gotten tired of losing hands and money trying to play poker while I'm working, so I don't do that anymore ...:cool:
