Until recently I only played offline in casinos and a few regular local games but when lock down hit earlier in the year I started playing online, mainly pokerstars and a bit of partypoker. In 20 years of regularly playing poker I have never seen as many pocket pairs until I started playing online. I am also amazed at how regularly two or more players at a 6 player table are dealt pairs.

Because this has been bothering me I even grabbed a pack of cards and dealt 6 hands face up on the kitchen table for half an hour and only once did I deal two pairs during the same deal. 66 and JJ.

Has anyone else noticed this or am I just going crazy?

I play online all the time. During this time I saw not only KK vs QQ, but also AA vs KK vs QQ, AA vs KK vs QQ vs JJ vs TT. I think it's all right here.

They call that the variance, and it's a classic to play AA vs KK also JJ vs AA 99 vs KK and the unpleasant 44 vs AA that always send you out, that's why friend you must create a strategy that works for you, greetings

More than 100 thousand people play online at pokerstars every day at rush hour, at thousands of tables simultaneously. And, of course, pocket pairs will be dealt on some tables, this is normal, I don't see anything supernatural here.

Yes, it is normal, in fact, in the last tournament of cardschat betonline we went all in 3 people, myself and another with AA and one with KK and a K came out on the table and the KK won by eliminating us

Live is much slower than online - you get way more hands I an hour of online play than live - so it is normal to see more repeated hands.

At a 6 player table, online players see about 75 hands per hour. That is three times the 25 per hour hands a live player sees. That means online players see 3X as many pairs.

A player has about 6% chance to be dealt a pair. That means 1/3 chance someone at a 6 player table has a pocket pair. And if someone has a pocket pair, then about 1/3 chance a second player has one also. So once every nine hands, two players were dealt a pair (2-3 per hour live, 8-9 per hour online).

I enjoyed playing on PokerStars and Party until Obama shut down their sites in the US on Black Friday.

I play on BCP quite a bit and see some interesting hands of dealt poker pairs. For instance JJ is all in vs TT, The flop comes with a T and the river comes with a J. Or a hand like 55 all in vs AA, a 5 comes on the flop, an A comes on the turn and a 5 comes on the river. I'm sure it's all totally legit. lol

I have been playing pokerstars for a very long time, more than 10 years, and indeed in recent years, the distribution of cards has changed a lot, before there were not such a huge number of crazy hands on Pokerstars that we can see now every day.
I have only one explanation for this, the more players play in the online room, the crazier the cards will be dealt.

When you play offline this is much slower gameplay than online. Online you can play at least 1000 hands in a few hours, while playing offline is it impossible.

Yes, this often happens. And there are many questions about this. But the thing is that more hands are played online. Therefore, the probability of any options increases.

I do agree with the roughly calculated percentages of the chance of hitting a pair. (~6% for one player, >30% for two players at a six players table. Besides this, if you play low stakes with beginners, you will see more show down, more all inn, hence more pairs, together with more hands you will see a lot of pairs.

Not only have I seen several pairs in the same hand, AA KK QQ ((and more also, full vs full two poker in a row and poker vs straight flush, there are really many doubts although it is true that many more hands are played in an hour in on line with respect to the live, but, if you see strange plays many times ..

Don't go crazy :)
This is a feature of online, in which a lot more hands are played than offline.
Plus, don't forget about rake, otherwise how will the room make money? :))

This has also been observed by me that pairs collide a bit frequently online, and A, K vs A, K or A, Q vs A, Q ... etc split the pot, hands develop. Which is pretty weird compared to the live game ...

You are not going crazy at all man. And you haven't seen anything yet if you are only talking about multiple pairs. You'll also see sets over sets, flushes over flushes..etc.. And what about when you'd be card dead and getting short stacked for a while till you're finally dealt KK on the button and you shove only to see the big blind calling you with AA, or worse yet, with 44 and hit that 4 on the flop.
The one hour you've spent dealing on your kitchen table doesn't mean anything too. The maximum of hands you'd have dealt would be around 30 if you are fast, and it would be at least double that # online. Not to mention the weird hands seen in live games too despite the slower pace. So just get used to the speed and the huge number of hands dealt online.

I’ve noticed that every time I get a pocket pair, the next hand is often a pocket pair. Does this happen to anyone else??
