Hi!
A beginner has less than 20% chance of winning(as well as the chances of luck). If a player learns to play his hands, this gives another 20%, studying poker mathematics will give an additional 20% , and at the end of using poker software and analyzing his sessions, another +20%.So we came to 80 \ 20 with what chances the regulars play.Conclusion-if you want to increase your skills, you need to study daily and poker mathematics is the most important aspect.

Mathematics is needed to calculate the probability of combinations and the odds of the pot. Well, without luck you can't win a tournament) although, as they say, it's all just variance. For some period of time, either you are lucky or your opponent.

Mathematics is certainly present in poker. By mastering poker mathematics, a player significantly increases his chances of winning. But there is nowhere without luck in poker, because even if from a mathematical point of view you have a very strong hand and the probability of winning is close to 100 percent, you can always be run over by a much weaker hand, but more successful!

A combination of both + skills and persuasion to convince your opponent that you have good cards. Poker is math, luck and psychology (in my opinion lol).

Poker is mostly luck. Your bad luck and other people's good luck. Take a gander at the way some people play at very high stakes. I've seen Maria Ho lay down top set on the flop, and Daniel Negreanu call his opponents hands precisely. But there is so much awful, terrible play you have to wonder how they got to play for such high stakes.
getting staked,a big juicy sponsored bankroll

Both, it's important to know the math of the game to play better and the better you play, the less you depend on the "luck factor".

Math vs. Luck

Math rules vs. luck, knowing your per centages would normally take care of any problem solving. But then again the river rat always bites you in the bun. Caution and smart play you will win in the end. Capo1014

You can also have math based on your tendencies. The $3.50 and $7.00 sngs at a site we'll call Cheat on Line, never use actual poker math in the hands that go to showdown. Imo, their business model dictates they use a formula that makes 72 a coin flip vs KK and better.
It would be easy for a site like bet on lies to simply post the weekly "went to showdown" stats, but they won't because it's how they keep the fish alive vs people who actually know the math.

I think, only luck, since mathematics is also luck in a sense.

Under the law of large numbers, mathematics is definitely more important than luck. But the number of samples is not tens of thousands of hands, and may reach hundreds of thousands or millions of hands.
But most people can't reach such a large number, and may give up halfway.
So this must rely on fund management and psychological construction. I think these two points are very important in poker games.

Agree. Psychology decides I think. Otherwise, there would be no bluff. Math probably helps a lot when playing multiple tables. Making a quick decision.

There are both elements in a poker game, knowing how many outs you have can be a great advantage over other players, also knowing whether to call a raise or all-in in certain situations, so a strong mathematical mind helps.
But there will always be a strong element of Luck, as in any game of chance, otherwise people would not play the game, You can read all the book's you want, or watch the Professional player's on Video for month's, but the lucky players will always be there to upset you.
People say the site is Rigged or they suffered a bad beat or suck-out, but in all honesty it is luck that has failed them, and the other player has had more than his share of luck, That's Poker! Live with it or Stop Playing.

When the fun Stops, STOP!

The math is basic..just know it and know the mechanics of the poker game you are playing. Most important thing is knowing how to read.

Poker is a game of chance until a certain level, until one understands the math and the dynamics of the game. If this is the case, then luck plays a smaller and smaller role. The higher the stake, the lower the luck factor.
Of course, luck can never get out of the game, but that’s also appealing to a lot of people in poker, because there’s no other sport where the weakest player can beat the strongest once in a while. But they long-term knowledge and math, experience, intuition gain and victory for experienced professionals.

As your mathematical knowledge improves, your game will also improve, you never stop learning, and we will leave luck as such as a product of the decisions that we make.
