This is a discussion on Insults in the game, you respond or ignore ? within the online poker forums, in the Online Poker section; I completely ignore this type of player, I think that there should be punishment for this type of player.
Even if the insults are not about me, it is frustrating to play against
A child having a tantrum. The poker site sould allow you to change
tables if you want, and when that person is alone at the table mabye
they will figure it out.
Most times I don't read chat or ignore what ppl are saying. But I think it's funny to see someone tilted and saying terrible things, makes me laugh. I bet if you say something you will get back even worse things.
There will always be a person either provocating or insulting, and I'll tell you one thing: even whichever answer you could make is pointless.
I'll give you one advice: "Do not let your emotions play Poker".
Without a doubt, I agree with you. I believe that any insults are unacceptable, especially among members of our community. Yesterday during a game in our daily freeroll, another player also unjustifiably insulted me. I made a screenshot and sent it to our administrator. I hope this player will be banned.
The insults do not concern me. I am busy playing and rarely pay attention to written messages. I think that those people who swear will understand that they are not behaving quite right. Players who understand this will do more in poker than impulsive and mentally unstable players.
Ignore...your money and time spent, play however you like...i know i change so much in tourneys...we all know how cheap ones are, and rebuys sometimes even worse...gotta adapt...ive seen diff. sites play allin, some like cheap flops...but that guy talkin smack obviously hasnt been around enough if hes complainin
Ignoring is a good way to diffuse the situation, but I find Sarcasm a more useful tool to attempt to alter the behaviour.
Also, in the event that its a bully, as is nearly always the rule, since a bully is usually a dummy, any challenge to his intelligence will tilt him and allow manipulation.
Rule 1: You cannot change the rules in the middle of the Game. Dont let Anybody!
I try ,as much as I can to ignore him , but if he is persistent in his verbal attacks ,I will reply ,in general by asking him if he is 10 years old anf his parents know he is here. Usually that works and he settles down
re: Poker & Insults in the game, you respond or ignore ?
I try to ignore. Sometimes they write very offensively, especially when the opponent loses. But it's easier for me than for you, I don't know English, I use Google translator, so I'm calmer. And, advice to you: do not pay attention, there are many stupid people in the world. Take care of your nerves, you need them to play. You will start to get nervous, you will lose.
I try to ignore them. I have seen that there are many who insult. I don't understand that strategy. Please play and let play. I have even seen a member of CC, with several years in this forum from what I could see later, insulting people because of their nationality and putting everyone badly on the daily freeroll table. Regrettable.
Good morning everyone, I have been playing poker since the end of 2018, I usually play on average 8 hours a day, until today I have not met a player who has passed the limes, I have been doing many times with donk, fish, idiot and others, I I think it is very funny, I do not use to caheteiar, the villains and their lines do not bother me what makes me angry is some absurd results, more part of poker.
I really don't care if a player is being a d!ck and trying to instigate foul banter. Although, when they lose and berate other players for besting them I will, sometimes, mess w/them and put them on tilt to take them out or scam some chips. it's funny when that happens
depends on my mood and how many games I am in at the time. But if I do notice it I make a note of it and to what level - trash talker looking for info or trash talker looking to insult and be offensive.
The only thing I really try to change in my own behavior is taking some extra joy when I can take chips from the person. Otherwise, I try to keep to the math and recognize it as a mistake on my part if I get emotionally invested in whatever drama they are trying to incite.
...I cut my deck to the Queen of Spades, but the cards were all the same...
Most of the time I have the stats of the game showing not the chat so I don't see what they are saying most of the time but sometimes if something juicy happens I'll flick over to see if anyone had something to say about it.
Mostly i ignore it. If it gets extremly rude i report them.
And sometimes i reply to drive them even further into tilt mode...
They get mad and focus only on winning chips from me and make
very costly mistakes then...
