I'm done with online poker until it is fully legal and regulated in the states.

What a pain in the ass..

I have been accused of bonus abuse by ignition Casino.

Here's the story:
When you make a deposit you also get a small about of bonus funds that require a very large playthrough of 10 times the deposit plus the bonus. For example if you deposit $200 you get a bonus fund of $50 for a total of $250. In order for that extra $50 to be released to you, you are required to wager 10 times 250 (which is $2,500) in the casino. There are different requirements for different games but that doesn't really matter for this.

So what I was doing was putting my $200 on the poker tables and while playing poker I also took the $50 bonus and would play blackjack, or roulette. I figured if I lost by $50 bonus it was okay because I really had nothing to lose, but if I won (or broke even) I would have some progress toward the wagering requirements. I would wager anywhere from $1 to $20 on a few bets then leave the casino. Well, I was killing it and getting really lucky at roulette and built my bonus funds to $200 while my poker funds have increased a little.

In any event they would be tempting me to start playing their casino games more and thus they would make some money from me in the long run, I didn't see the issue.

Well, they just called me and told me if I continue to do this they will shut down my account and keep any of my funds (bonus AND regular).

**** that!

It made me realize that they can do whatever they want and I would have no way to challenge them.

So I am done with online poker for now. Tonight I will forfeit my bonus and withdraw all my regular funds. They just lost all the rake they were taking from my poker play.

We need regulated online poker in all 50 states ASAP..

RIP Ignition Casino

With the recent Supreme Court ruling on sports gambling, I’d guess that legalized poker will be right around the corner.

These processes are so slow - even with sports betting, its likely a year or two before states will pass their respective laws and organizations start opening up to US players. So not tomorrow, but it’s coming.

FWIW I’ve never had an issue other than my options being limited when it comes to poker.

Wow that's ridiculous. What did they say you were doing wrong? Taking too long to play through the bonus amount?

i hear you, im so ready for real online poker to come back im tired of the few fake ass poker sites, im sorry im not claiming rigged, and I do still play small amounts, but whether its hacker, bots or the sites being shady, I definitely think something shady goes on behind the scenes, and why because they can.
the problem is some states can reg it while others may never get there, it needs to be fedral, and why it came to this in the first place is a bunch of bull, if your an adult and want to play online poker, well we should be able too.
A lot of more important issues in the world than online poker for them to be concerned with

Wow

Wow, I don't like the sound of that. I would pull my money out of there asap. I do think if you are going to wait for legal US wide poker then you are going to be waiting for a long time. Good luck !

No, they said I wasn't risking any of my real money in the casino, and they are right about that. I would put my real money on a poker table and play poker, and at the same time take my bonus money and wager in the casino.
I honestly thought it wasn't a big deal, and that the bonus was there to get me "hooked' on the casino, like a drug dealer giving you some free crack to get you started....

I’d also add that I don’t think this has anything to do with you being in the US. I would bet they’d pull the same card with anyone - although I agree that it’s not a great policy they have.

You're right, and I'm not really mad about it anymore. It basically makes the bonus worthless for me because I'm not a big casino gamer. I might sit down and play blackjack for 5 minutes or roulette for 2 spins...but I know better than to sit there for hours.

I wish they would let me trade the bonus to them for a bonus I could actually use, like a few tournament tickets (freerolls) or some poker points (rake back).

We'll see....

I don't user the casino but have played a few hands of Blackjack.

I understood the bonus's I was looking to clear had to be cleared through poker play. Not sure why they think transferring $50 to the casino after setting up the bonus amount to be earned is not legit.

Unfortunately there are not a lot of choices right now for you, good luck though.

I posted yesterday regarding old poker sites..the good, bad and ugly. If you adhered to their Terms and Conditions and this site did this then you have a case. At this point, copy the email you received from Ignition and cite where in the T&C they contravened their agreement and send the email to the VP operations of the NETWORK and at least five regulatory agencies..US and International.
You did the right thing by cancelling your account and stating your experience in a public forum.

It looks like they forgot to list in the T&C:
- winning players not allowed

Bonus-bogus money can be tricky. One time the play through rules changed as I was doing it and then took me a year instead of a day.

I read through it. They have several ways of getting around it.

There is a clause that says the bonus is only meant for rec players who aren't good enough to not need it.
Another one that says that they get to determine who these people are.
So all that have to say is that I am too good to need the bonus and just remove it.

Sorry to read, look like my summary was already there, only in 400 words instead of 4.
This bonus is misleading, as you're not allowed to win.
I gues you cannot complain that they forfeit the bonus, but taking your deposit as well is theft.

If I were you, I'd get my money out of this house soon. Why offer the bonus if the user can not take advantage of it and profit from it?

Damn greedy

Just want to make sure im on same page. Your upset that they have rules that apply to free money they provide to you for you putting your money on their site?

Instead of getting upset think about it. What are you really loosing? These sites have it figured out that house games have the edge. I always here people complain about sites with high bonuses the most. Complain its rigged or so on. Think about it. Free money, sites go under if there's not a agenda in these totally legit casinos online. :)

I dont take bonuses mostly because i avoid the free stuff. Seems like its never free. Except i will be playing CC free roll once ACR gets its act together.

Eat Little...Live Long

You were Backed-Off. If you were card counting in a Casino they would essentially do the same thing...
They don't like what You are doing, and they can stop you from doing it.
BE AWARE!, That any regulatory body put in place to control Gambling, generally ends up being controlled itself... its the same for any Regulation Body...
Play smart, keep your head down... and as the Chinese Proverb goes... "Eat Little...Live Long"!:girlshit:

The whole design of "free money" is to attract you into putting up real money then playing to earn the additional money which should in the long run be less than your expected losses or so convoluted that you give up on getting it.
