Deep runs into the money feels great... but are we getting past the min cash?

Constantly min cashing,... it can get frustrating. Food for thought, it's not as bad as you may think. Placing deeper in an online MTT will happen.. eventually. The time frame from when that will happen depends on your due diligence. Are you taking some offline time to study the leaks in your game? Recording your sessions or saving your tough spots may help the journey to the :cool:FT arrive sooner... than later.

Thank you for reading my post, please feel free to share your thoughts ;)

i look at min-cashing something just pads the bankroll in between the deep runs. taking the normal 15-25% itm finish for most players, getting some min-cashes or better definitely lightens impact of not cashing 75-85% of the time.

but it's important to realize that min-cashing alone isn't going to bring you any profit. even if someone is min-cashing 40% of the time, if the normal min-cash is double the buy-in, they're only getting back 4/5 buy-ins. in the long term. even if we ignore that a 40% itm finish is not sustainable at all. that's not saying min-cashing isn't good, it definitely has it's place. for example, if i'm having a bad session, a few min-cashes can mean the difference between being down 10 buy-ins or 5 buy-ins for the day. and there will be times where strategy dictates you should be going for the min-cash first or if that should be the main goal (in that particular situation), but it shouldn't be the overall goal.

when i play mtts, this is how i view the payouts

-money bubble: not important
-min cash: not necessarily important, but nice for freerolling some games
-final table bubble: the real money bubble
-9th - 7th: min-cashes
-6th - 4th: deeper cashes, 4th is the most important bubble spot
-top 3: most important cashes

I love the info you shared brotha! I definitely agree with you about the importance of the min cash to balance bi losses. Yes, FT cashes should be a priority when regging, as it provides the best value for the time invested.
