I don't actually need a large bankroll and can do fine with 15 buy ins in my account ($300). My question is, is there a maximum amount others are comfortable keeping in your poker account?

I'm playing on pokerstars PA and they are regulated by the gaming commission. Should I be worried about keeping several $k on the site? I find it easier to just transfer money from the client to my bank anytime I need it. It takes 15-30 minutes to appear usually.

I keep a good amount that allows me to play comfortably. In my country would be difficult to cash out to my bank and deposit again when I needed because the taxes would be too high and would not worth it.

For a lot of people its easier to manage a poker bankroll, if its all sitting on the site, where they play. This makes it very easy to see, what is the bankroll right now, so what games am I allowed to play. And with PokerStars specifically I am certainly not worried about having a few tousind dollars sitting there. They are very large and have solid profits, they have been around forever, and as you point out yourself, they are also licensed in many places.

But that being said, if you can manage to not spend your bankroll for other purposes than poker, there is no real benefit in having it sitting on a poker site. So in your situation I would not see any reason to deposit more, unless its needed. I would not withdraw winnings either though. If it goes well, I would just let the balance grow, until it reach at least a 4-figure amount. For me there is no point in constantly moving money back and forth, if its only a few houndred bucks.
