Every beloved stuff can turn into a boring one, that's why we collect more and changing them when they needed to, and keep coming back when we miss them. Or we renew ourselves and doing them in different perspectives / with different attitudes.
To answering your statement about poker, I'm listening music, playing different games in poker or just take a little break to refresh my mind. If its a sallery & fun source, no need to put it away 4ever.

If you play a lot of tables at once, you won't get bored. If you only play one table, I agree, so you can fall asleep. I advise you to open a video on YouTube or music in parallel. This way it will be more fun to play)

I always watch a movie or series on the side. Sometimes I also study but I think that also depends on the intentions. A real professional player would probably just play more tables. I am satisfied with the freerolls and try to slowly build up my bankroll.

I listen to music mostly, but occasionally I'll listen to a podcast or something that doesn't require my full attention and I can just leave it on in the background.

Multi-tasking saves the day. I can easily play 4 poker tables, watch some educational video and draw a 3d model or some plans at the same time. If you're bored playing online poker then I can recommend you to play 12-16 tables at the same time, you won't have time to be bored.
