I feel you must take all
poker games seriously Play Money, Points or Real Money, otherwise you learn nothing from them, there are a lot of players who don't really care when playing for Points or Play Money chips, I have even come across them in Real Money games, So you can win more often if you play seriously, and if you can make the money, then go one to make the Final Table, and eventually Heads-up play you can experience all aspects of the game.
Admittedly you get the all-in idiots at the start of any
poker game Play Money and Freeroll's but if you can get through the first half an hour, things begin to change as the more serious players get to play more like they would in a Real Money game.
Some say you cannot learn anything from Play Money games or Freeroll's, but I think they are wrong, admittedly they are different, in that some players do not play seriously and can be too aggressive, but you do gain experience, and to be honest that goes a long way.
Practice makes Perfect.
When the fun Stops, STOP!
