I'd say it feels like it does, but you have to take into consideration that you're playing WAY more hands online than in real life. Plus, with the ability to multi-table, you're increasing the volume of hands even more. So it stands to reason that while you see more bad beats online, that's just a result of the volume you play.

The bad beats in person are no less crazy than what's online. Here's one that many of you know and may have seen before in the first Big One for One Drop.

If you trust in mathematics, it is only a question of volume ;)

No , it's the same chance both on and live.
But for the reason there are tons on hands in online it appears that they come more often

Failure in online poker and in live poker is the result of our mistakes and the frequency of failures depends only on us.

As others have said, you see more bad beats (and coolers) online, because you play more hands. Maybe an online session for an average player is 1.000 hands, but if the same player goes to a brick and mortar casino, its only 200 hands. And of course 5 times more hands means 5 times more of everything. And since the human brain tend to remember bad outcomes more than good ones, the times, we got sucked out on, or our kings ran into aces, gets noticed. And this then lead to confirmation bias and theories about online poker being rigged.

I think bad beats happens more often in online poker than in live poker, but mostly because we play a lot more hands per hour online than in live poker.

maybe

Online only thing that true is you see more hands per hour. Everything else is observation because a HUD can't tell you everything. I've played both and my observation is yes more beats happen online. More flushes, more aces hit the board. Monster on monster is really frequent online. You ever get bored watch 100 hands on Wpt. Then go over any 100 hands online. You would be surprised. Just means more play online. If your all about the thrill can't go wrong online. Online only real winner is the ones collecting the rake. Ya baby
