Daniel Negreanu is ironic even in a difficult situation. He analyzes the session of the heads up match with open cards.
You will forget about your bad beats after watching this video for five minutes.
Danger! All the tricks were performed by professionals. Don't try to repeat them!

Is he on a hemps medication or whatever else , what is this game ??? I got bored half time of the video , he's throwing money vs a tricky plaqyer like Doug , he is giving him odds , or he plays in a right live poker style , but this is online , traps everywhere . He wanted to play vs him , what , to donate a million to him ??

Dont know about the motives for this match, but its certainly good for poker, that they did it. Poker need event like this to create excitement and attract new players :)

It doesn't look like an analysis, it's more like "I'm gonna post a mocking video that looks like I'm making fun of myself, but what actually I'm doing is showing that I just ran awfully bad". Judging by your post and the comments under the video, it has worked ;)

Daniel Negreanu posts all his hands against Doug Polk. His video can be taken as a joke, but this way he shows how he lost hand after hand. If he's not broken, then he can get out of the hole.

Maybe it's a way to promote the platform and show that these things happen to anyone.

"AA's let's go!"
"No." :D

It's not all his hands. Those are the hands from the 12th day of the challenge.. Which happens to be the very first video on this challenge that he ever posted, and it's about how unlucky he was.

I thought I was the only one getting bad beats. My latest bad beat: I have AA. Flop is 2J9. I have the highest pair and nothing big on the table. I raise, he calls. Next card 9. (2J99) I raise he calls. Next card 7.(2J997) I raise he goes all-in. I call, he has 79. Like, what ????

For anyone watching this series this particular video indicates little but (I think) the largest one day loss to that date.

The series has swung back and forth from the get go with Doug Polk enjoying some run good of late ending up being ahead of Negreanu for around 600K, I believe, with them now taking a seasonal break.

Polk has been a calling station at times and so has Negreanu. Negreanu maintains he is learning a lot (I am not quite sure of that yet) and talks like he has never engaged with heads up - which is baloney as he played many heads up challenges in the past. Polk on the other hand was the highest ranked player in the format for a few years, but I have not been overly impressed with him at times. He seems rusty from the outset like Galfond was when he embarked on his 'challenges'.

Still as fundiver199 has noted, it is drawing eyes to the poker world in a lean time so the series is welcomed and a positive.

I watched his video and at first it was funny and self-ironic in the style of Negreanu, but check out other videos where the amount of loss went over half a million and it looked already sad. Even the voice and manner of parsing changes. Look at the reaction of his wife to his loss of one of the distributions (in the video on the GG channel), all the pain from what was happening was visible on her face.
Sure, Negreanu is good at tournaments, I like his live tournament play, but in heads-up his strategies are not so successful, especially against a player as experienced in this discipline as Polk. I hope this loss will help him become better in the game and will allow him to win more than one competition.

Imho unless you have played at high stakes against someone who employs GTO against you, you aren't qualified to call out idiot play at that level.

Mate, you don't need "qualification" to post an opinion online, but never mind I hadn't seen the video yet, Negreanu didn't necessarily play like an idiot, was a compilation I guess not one run, but it looks recognizable.

Yes, I know. Since then, he has been posting every round. Giving the audience the opportunity to draw conclusions about how true his calls were or not

Polk got lucky many times too but he is heads up specialist, studying GTO and its hard to beat GTO just by playing exploitative heads-up

Negraneau is also only showing the big hands that went to showdown. His best plays might be offscreen. That being said he is down, and by watching his Hand Review videos he's making half of his calls and raises with a "**** this guy" mentality which I think will be his ultimate downfall.

This shows us he knows nothing about Heads up. Remember heads up at his level you gonna swing like a mother ****er. DNEGS is on tilt he just dont see it. He doesnt know who Doug is as his opponent. Remember he compared himself to tyson and polk is an upstart who wants a title shot. lol So the lesson is know your opponent and yourself and you should win more often. Manny times D negs knows losing 1mil to him is nothing so he calls weak to see his opponents hands and shoves all in way to often of the flop.

Very perplexed the game between the two. These bad beat bad luck, but the purpose of the games to demonstrate a different side of poker is very interesting!
