The tighter you play the better rake is; the looser you play the better an hourly fee is.

Elaborate? Rake is never felt because the money is taken from a won pot.. if you play tight and lose in a rake game you lose the chips you had on the table, if you lose in an hourly game you are out buy in plus fees.. and for loose with rake you lose you lose buy in and hourly buy in plus fees

If you play very tight you will pay less in rake than you will with a hourly charge. It's not a big deal either way if the pricing is fair. Though it does gall me to be card dead for an extended period and have to pay just to sit at the table.

That’s what I would think I’ve never played on a time table but I would not be a fan of getting stacked and asked to pay more money..

I have always been a fan of the rake. When card dead it's frustrating to pay by the half hour or hour. Although I've never been to a casino that charges by the hour.
