The bill for legal online poker/sports betting/casino/fantasy sports has passed the house of reps and the senate, and will be delivered to the Governors desk Thursday Dec 19th 2019 to hopefully be signed into law. The bills sponsor hopes to have everything live and running by March Madness in March 2020.

Everything i've heard reported out of the govs office is positive, so it will hopefully be a done deal very soon. This has been a long time coming and I am very excited for the future to come.:icon_thum:icon_thum:icon_thum:):):)

Congratulations to all those who live on Michigan. I hope more states will follow your lead.

I do not live in Michigan but have been following closely. Once everything is up and running going to make a trip up there for a few weeks as I have family there.

I would guess that sports betting and poker will all be up and running by no later than July.

Dont feel PPA has done what they can for poker community or ALL of Americans would be back to Party or Stars. here in Indy they made it where you can bet sports now but not poker :( . Not sure what it is they have against poker other then havent figured out a way to get there greedy paws into it

I for once in my life really think that we are looking at around 5 years where we will see more poker in more states and combined player pools. I would have to say I am shocked it has taken this long to develop.

It all comes down to lobbying something poker never did very well. Also all the big names never really ever fought for online poker because they where all to busy cashing there checks every month to care. Where sports betting came on fast because of the big money and leagues finally caved after losing the New Jersey case. What I find funny is they fought sports gambling for years. Now all the leagues are best friends with all the gambling companies and sighing multi million dollar deal with them..

Its why i dont understand it. There is ALOT of money to made in the American states and for none of them including PPA to not be fighting hard to get poker in US makes no sense. I realize the casinos are fighting to keep it from going legal. The boom could have already come back if not for greed. If these online sites really wanted to fight to get us back they would.

When you have poker as it is currently (Semi Segregated) there just is not enough money in it for the states compared to sports betting. So of course sports betting and fantasy get the quick approval. I do think with the expansion of all the sports gambling can only speed up the process for other states to get poker off the ground. The more states that figure out the compact with other states the faster poker will grow.
