AvonAnon on ignition poker led me to requesting a crisp paycheck for my hard earned tabl3 winnings of 100.00... too bad they sent my dumbass Canadian based currency costing me about 65 bucks and I came rolling home with my silent laughter and a whooping 35 US$

I believe that anonymity in poker is not good ... I do not like it ... it would be very uncomfortable not knowing who I am playing against ... I do not see the need to hide our identity when playing poker ..! Finally I will say that I would not play at any table where I do not know who I am playing against!

first it s impossible and rare to win in a game if u don t study it and learn and reaad .so thoses who start playing witouth knowing anything about the games are called fish . so whatevr u can know their username or their called numbers , they will always do bad moves that will show that their are fishes . Sharks are searching for thoses kind of players in poker . So i think anounymous poker is same as other . because of the quality of the players .

I still prefer conventional mode instead of anonymous poker. Furthermore, if you have the option of extracting some information (view historic, analyze in detail) from other people is much better than having none. This is valid for the life.

I like anonymous for online... Sure.

But in real live poker, let us all imagine what anonymous would require... perhaps at a casino wearing paper bags over our heads?

Seems silly

(Or that one guy who wore that horse head mask... hmm - that guy StickyRice from Bovada iirc)

I could go for some Barnyard poker sure... This could work.

We each pick a barnyard animal.

I can see it now, I pick the Hen mask, and on each side of me are wolves... topping it one of the wolves is a chain smoker augh!

play anonymously think it has its good and bad things in particular the good things is that when making a decision on the table because nobody can sense your emotions or anything like that if you were playing online with a videocamera.
then I think you can play anonymously increase gambling addiction or gambling problems

I am not a fan, but I understand the rationale, but I also thinks it eliminates a vital check and balance system to protect against cheaters. Despite what sites say about how great their internal controls are... a lot of online cheating is caught by a guy with a hud.

For me I think it's okay this format, poker mood, because changing the identity lets you vary on different factors about the game and opponents while playing again to basics, as was done in Poker principle, since there will be no previous information about the players, I think both beginners and players sharks are likely in this type of format to win. regards

Variety in poker is a good thing. Chose to play it or not. I think it helps the less experienced player, so that is good. If you feel it puts you at a disadvantage, there is always another game....

I do not like anonymous tables, I like to know who I'm playing.
I do not think that fish sharks need protection because poker is not strictly a game of skill, a large percentage fate intervenes, and that is that things are balanced.

I'm not sure either way tbh.
I'm getting use to it and now don't care too much but I feel less responsible for how I play these days tho'... that I'm not liking but as I said I'm getting use to it and don't care to much ..... that said I prefer to know who I'm playing against whether it be basketball, football or poker.

Get rid of all online aids and play the table . If you take away the opportunity to track players then you cant prove cheating . poker stars Holdem Max is a example of unregulated prize payouts where players cant observe games and no players know where the money is going . This is the worst form of anonymous poker . Lets hope players stop the sites from becoming uncontrolled . Open, player scrutiny should be of first and foremost importance .

in my personal opinion I have never agreed with these programs, I think it gives more advantage to experienced players compared to recreational or beginners, there is nothing more natural to play without the famous "help programs"

It is a very interesting version of on line poker. From one point of view it reduces the communication and the interaction between the players. On the other hand it appears players from scratch with no previous informations between them, which gives a sence of freedom to each player. I think it is a good challenge for every poker player, but I would prefer the game with each player having an identity and showing his personality.

Well I'm a horrible poker player so I would like to try it. Maybe it'll help me win. I think a lot of people know me and my style so it would be a big help, but at the same time I like to know who I'm playing against.
This is what everyone would like, but will never happen.
Unless you're site admin....

A blessing for the HUDless blokes, gives the fishies better chances against the hud masters which I think is good for the game.

The hud lovers can simply avoid that mode if they're not into it so its not too much of a loss for them.

Overall a good thing imo.

Know who you're playing

Not having the ability to know who you are playing can be costly. Good to be able to figure out a players habits.

Aquiring the skill of figuring out other players habits by playing with them can be extremely valuable if you put in the work.

What is good for the game is for everyone everywhere follow their stupid values they preach (esp in religion) and quit trying to game the system. Just a str8 up game, no bots, no MA, no stables, no nothing but a fair game, no ghosting, no software nothing but the cards and the chips. then threads like this wouldnt even exist. We have to find ways to either hide the cheaters or disquise them. lets just alll HOLD hands AND BE UNISON AND PLAY THE GAME FAIRLY 100% ALL THE TIME, ( i could write a song here, Lets all hold hands, lets keep it fair, and then anonymous would be just air!! LOL)

Anonymous Poker On line

I actually learned to play first live poker so we had no statistical analysis or support programs to have information from other players

I try to adapt my game to online but now I see a lot of decision making upon historical and performance analysis that takes the game to a targeting and this is bad fact for away new players who want to play without a preparation for the game online that is very competitive and also have made it difficult for the recreational player who is at a great disadvantage when compared to pro player online

However discussed above I would be delighted if the game back to be with less clear information that math lovers and theorems rolls will be disappointed but for the growth of poker online anonymity in my opinion is positive and welcome

I think its depends on how u playing > like u playing for cards or with your opponent / if u Have HUD 75% of Games you play on Opponents stats ( i mean u always trying to find hes next step ) but in real u must think that this Stats collects in another tables where he may be play much time with Fishes , and same time he playing with HUD-he playing like this coz he watching your Stats too . i dont use any HUD ,May be i think like that because > i started playing Pokerstars Online few month ago , and havn't much experience and playing only 1 Table few hours :)

Bovada has anonymous tables. I think it hurts credibility. Sometimes it appears like slot poker in the low stakes. A username has a history and does not appear out of the dark, so I think this is a good thing. Poker does have something to do with observation and your opponent. Not being able to make a decision based on learning or a player is a abnormal form of poker. Sizing someone up is part of the game.
Yet, I believe online stats should not be public information without the consent of the player.

I have been considering downloading a particular site that is anonymous to try it out. I don't anticipate that I would play much at this site, but I do think it is worth playing occasionally to keep in good practice. It would be like a musician doing their scales to me. I probably would not do a significant buy-in. Having read the article, I think I will now download that site out of curiosity.

I do think you could open a cash game and observe it for several minutes before you jump in, my wife taught me that. It would be harder to multi-table.

I do think it is good to develop several skills, so sometimes I multi-table and sometimes I only play one. Sometimes I do a tournament, sometimes a sit and go to practice final table work and sometimes I just do head's up. It is great to vary your game, so I don't think anonymous play is a bad thing, it is just another way to practice for the final goal of a wsop Main Event.
