I think I like online better because you can always find a game. I do not like the "bingo" factor though. You usually don't see people just jamming all in with any 2 cards in person.
No you are not the only one
I also prefer playing online than live (except with my friends of course).
In fact many reasons to explain that:
First, online you can always find a tournament or SNG to play... even during the night.
Second, I am a little bit shy and in live poker you can experience a kind of "physical pressure" that I don't like.
Moreover I am a woman and at the live tables you often meet only men.
So for me it is online poker or live poker with friends only
You are definitely not alone, there are a lot of us who prefer to play poker online. It is much easier and nicer for me to play from the comfort of my home, than somewhere with a crowd of people. At home I have the privilege of playing in silence. I can focus on the game much easier.
I was at a table where an oldster's colostomy bag broke. Then another guy pissed himself and just continued to sit in it. After that, I swore off live action forever.
Played live twice after winning entry through satellites and online day 1. It was an experience but not one I would want to repeat unless I got in for free. Very first hand I acted out of turn and alerted the whole table that I was a rookie and never really overcame that handicap. I think I would be more prepared in the future but I still find online easier.
Well it depends on the person, many people like to play online more than live. It all depends on the character of the person, I like to play live more, but now I only play online.
