We are just back from vegas. Most poker rooms we strolled by were 100% men playing. A very few times we saw one or two women playing (Mandalay). I looked up female games but I think there were only the wsop in June. :( I really wouldn't mind jumping in if there were even 5% women. Oh well that's poker I guess

that is poker. Not sure but women are most likely to go shopping but hey? I am a man so not sure. In my table room at poker. 75 + people area are going to play poker tournament and only couple women are in. I think women dont care for concentration and focus about "poker". But I'm not sure! Ask Debi :p

many women players too seem to be the more recreational type, they like the social atmosphere of the game but they aren't really playing to win

Unlike the ladies here on Cardschat. The last Cardschat Guys vs Gals special event, the ladies were playing to win alright, and they did. As for entering a live event and not really playing to win, I don't think so.

hi hi
i love Las Vegas & i love Poker
however when i go to Vegas or any casino for that matter, i play blackjack
seems live poker doesn't attract the kind of men i would want take home meet mom
you often find egoistical, crude, vulgar, narcissistic, male champions at live tables

what girl doesn't want to spend many hours in such stellar company?

I will be playing more blackjack on my next visit to Las Vegas, just so I can sit beside the lovely Krista. :handkiss:I shall be altruistic, delicate, polite and selfless, as always.

I still have nightmares about that result. Clearly rigged. :pcguru:

Only kidding ladies. You played well and deserved to win.

It's a shame to see so few women, but those present often go very far.:p:p

I seem to play live poker in places where the men to women ratio is usually around 90/10...and many of the women are very good poker players...since there are more men than women, there are more male fish...the women tend to know their way around poker.

As for KristaK, it is a pity that you only run into
egoistical, crude, vulgar, narcissistic men at poker tables...I guess I don't fit the norm. Maybe you should stick to sleezy bars and Tinder to find the quality men you seek.

Like others have said, that's just the natural gender ratio for poker. Just as mostly men play football or wrestling, mostly men play poker. As long as women are welcomed when they desire to play, I don't see any problem with it. Discrimination shouldn't be tolerated.

I think that the 90/10 ratio is quite consistent with the modern reality in live poker. There are a lot more women in online poker - that's for sure.

I played some cash games recently in Vegas and there were women at my table. And they played impressively well. Statistically there are less women playing poker but the situation seems to be improving as time goes by.
