Hi all, just watching pokerstars Uk London event live and was wondering why they still use a two colour deck and not four colour..is there a reason, or is it just 'tradition'?..
a 4 colour deck makes more sense to me...
I think most players prefer, or at least expect a two colour deck when playing live. It is traditional and completely fine for the players.
I have not played much live poker recently, but when I did, it was always with a two colour deck. I play in home games and have many sets of beautiful chips and many decks of quality cards. The cards are all two colour.
Four colour decks are for people who are really picky about their cards, have very poor eyesight, or both. The only obvious advantage of a four colour deck is online. I always use them online. Most televised events that I've seen recently also use a four colour deck for the hand summary laid over the live shot, but the players are playing with a two colour deck.
