It was humorous and enjoyable at first, but it later turned super toxic. I believe that both crossed the line, but Persson was hugely difficult to see.
Unfortunately, Phil finds it difficult to simply let a monster like this flap his jaws. Phil would consistently win more games than lose in a series. Perhaps the person understands that this is the only way he can ever defeat Phil. Phil can only lose games like this one through bad luck with the draw.

They both went over the line at some point. Tbh Phil Hellmuth deserved it for being an asshole for years

I think the best thing is to toss a coin.

The Poker Brain.....

I watched a younger player... with a good stack, call off the entire stack with a Q high flush draw and one card to come...

Not the first time I have seen him do it..... lives for the rush... but when he misses... He didn't learn...

Self destruction or chasing the adrenaline rush...

giving someone the finger in a casino or tournament> should be ejected immediately
i agree with you even telling swear words not just in poker but in my opinion you should never insult other person even it's joke both in poker and in real life this is just not right

This strategy only works if you Entertain the conversation. Just Ignore them and focus 🧘‍♀️ on your own game.

No...it only works if you're getting all the luck.

Otherwise, you're just handing over all your chips to a better player.

There were several moments it could have went really wrong for Persson but Helmuth just didn't have a hand.

This video shows how psychology plays a role in poker. Therefore, it is important, especially when playing offline, to study the players you play with, but you should not forget about psychology in an online game either.

Everyone has their own tactics and strategy as to how to play the game. I prefer to concentrate on good poker thinking, analysis, size betting, positioning rather than playing trashtalking ;p

It is difficult thing to understand when you play versus professional player. But when you see a fish who was sit for the first time you can easily won some chips.

Just like addicts, I have never met an addict that wasn’t running some kind of scam (or BS story/lies) one way or another lol, Poker is just like addicts running scams or telling BS stories IMO

Trick is to never fall for the BS:)

I'm not a big fan of Helmuth, and Persson took advantage of his weakness but...

Middle fingers at the felt bruh? Even worse, double middle fingers.

Never seen that in my life.

It's the establishment fault for not taking action right away.

It’s all just psychology, those guys are both well off financially (they aren’t idiots with born to lose Tattos on their arms) it’s not personal, it’s just to get an edge. I’m sure Persson outside of the game is a great guy. Once on the felt, it’s all about edge IMO and if it’s psychology or sunglasses, whatever gives an edge then why not?

Sort of goes to the whole story that people that live boring lives at boring jobs play poker to be “bad” to have that little bit of a “bad” side lol.

I play just because it’s fun as hell to watch people do what they do, (I even do deals (evenly) while having the largest stack just to see how they react lol) I should actually try to make money at this game one day lol

BTW I saw Negreanu call him “Yum Yums” when he entered into a cash game in a 2007 in a video. You can be great at tourneys, but you can just straight up suck at cash or heads up. I am one of those tournament type players and know I would get demolished heads up playing cash.

Tournament play is an art form to me, playing cash is like playing a whole other game, I won’t touch it (to me it is gambling)

the guy's an awesome nlhe tourney player but cash games are more pure poker and playing the player,
he got played is all and he couldn't handle it lol

Here is that video I was talking about from 2007, Phil is an amazing Tournament player and IMO one of the best at tournaments, but cash?

Phil Helmuth is funny sometimes , but it goes to far , on the other side Eric Persson is just a bully .
Its kinda fun to watch this heads up cash game between this 2 guys .
