Quite different in my opinion. I really can’t stand playing online, love poker is the best! Poker is like sex, it is just not the same when you do it over the computer.”

Hi.
I play only online.
For the most part, I do not have much free time so I can play live poker. Although, in my opinion, playing live is much more complicated.
Good luck.

Live and online are very different animals.

On-line - the good thing about on-line is the massive amount of hands you can play in a short amount of time. I calculate that i have played more than 1.2 million hands. The good thing about this, is that this is how you really see the game and understand how it works. ( This helps to explain how new players can get "good", so quickly.) You realize that what are considered bad beats are actually fairly normal occurrences. I have never been fortunate to play anything but micro stakes and freerolls on-line, so my view of on-line is tainted in a negative way - at these levels, competition is weak and unpredictable and it makes it tough to learn if what you are doing is correct.

Live - there is a lot more happening. Obviously it takes a lot longer to play a tournament, so you might think it is slower, but there is so much information to digest that it seems to go too fast at times. I much prefer live play, but the same phenomena regarding the buy-in takes place. If you play a $35 tournament, it may be quite unpredictable and you may just have to get lucky. If you play a $200+ tournament (this is a big buy-in in my area), you are probably going to play with more experienced players and will be able to put your poker skills to the test. Of course, the ability to multi-table or even play more than one tournament a day is not going to happen. It will take you 33 yrs playing 4 hrs a day/5 days a week (assuming 35 hands/hr) to get in 1.2 million hands live.

Way different. Imo I think live poker is 100% softer. You can tell a fish very quickly. Even by how they told their cards.

I play poker every day for 4-6 hours a day, but only online. Unfortunately, I do not have the ability to play live. In my opinion, playing live is more difficult than online.

I sometimes play poker with my friends live at home, but it's not really for me, I play only online and I do not have the opportunity to play live casinos at poker tournaments, but I would really like to try playing live poker in a casino with a large number of players in the tournament!

Honestly, I have not played live yet. probably I'd like to play more live tournaments at a table than sitting at home online
but on the other hand online game also has its advantages. speed and convenience

Live poker is better for me, because you can be sure of the integrity of the game and the emotions are much more than in offline poker.

Live is obviously more fun for sure. But the biggest problem from me playing live, as a MTT player, is the huge rakes. I play in a $100 tournament online, and the rake is $10. But a live $100 buy in, the rake will be $30. That is a huge difference.

Live Poker, for me it is much better and more fun to play because it has the direct interaction with the player. the difficulty of the game increases a lot in my opinion.

Huge difference, more thrill, more excitement in live games. Also, the entire ambient and atmosphere where you have a dealer, players, floorman is simply great. I actually first started playing live games, and after a few years started online, and I can only say all the best for live play as oppose to online!

Hands down, 100% I prefer live play. I feel it is the way poker is intended to be played. Comes down to man vs man. A lot more skill is involved playing live when you take into account how people act when put in tough situations.

*One thing I do love about playing online is being able to wake up on a Saturday or Sunday morning and sitting down in my boxers with a cup of coffee! Lmao!

I prefer live poker, less variance and more chance to play against recreational and manic than boredom begin to play any hand. Sadly where I live, live poker does not exist

Of course it's better to play live, but to be honest with finance. I do not have such opportunities yet.
