I think I don't play the same way I play online poker in live poker. Not agressive enought, bad bets, and I'm usually playing with amateurs (lol)
I'm wondering if someonelse has this same thoughts.

It's the opposite experience. Do you have a poker face?

I'll show you mine if you show me yours?

My "I have the nuts" face

Depends entirely on the individual.
I had some sucess online , but I guess I will never surpass my live winnings .
I think I will play a live tourney tomorrow . It's been far too long and since all cardrooms were shut down in austria , very limited offers by the state casino concerning Poker .
But tomorrow is nice considering how poor the options are .
60€ buy in unlimited rebuys .

I just miss livepoker so much I think i will give it a try even without a guaranteed prizepool haha

Good luck! Hope you smash it. Sounds a reasonable tourney price wise!!

For me so far, I find that the live environment helps me keep my focus so that I'm less likely to make a major mistake. Its much easier to decide to click than it is to decide to shove in your real chips. Also I find the average live play is worse than the average online player. The key is therefore to maintain discipline and wait for your spots. When you get them its more likely it will be pretty profitable playing live!

Thanks:)
Besides missing players and dealer in person it's also very nice to be able to catch tells from expressions

I don't know if you play live poker regulary. I play mostly live poker with my friends and I think I play better live than online because I'm in a comfortable enviroment. I only played a couple of times live poker with strangers and I also thought I didn't play well, because I was nervous to bluff or call a bluff worrying about what other people think. But I believe if I have more opportunities to play live this feeling will go away eventually.

I haven't even played live poker to try and make money yet, I just am having a great time at the experience winning placement/money enough to cover expenses playing live. I think online poker is a complete waste of time to try and make money at (but it can be a fun past time to play) but that is just my own opinion. It is the opinion of a live player that breaks even:) I can go into all the details why I can't stand online poker (in general), but nobody wants to hear a grouch lol.

I think whatever your' niche is you should go with it, mine is playing live and playing the players in real time-live. If USA decides to let regulated sites play legally again in 'all' US states, I will play online, there is no way you will see me playing an un-regulated online site again (not even to practice). Again, that is just me.

Always just go with what it is you enjoy to play! :)

Live is an entirely different game IMO, most live recreational players haven't even read a book on poker lol. And most online players are so savvy with odds and poker tracker stats, it makes my head hurt, that isn't why I can't stand online, its a lot of other reasons lol.

Live tournament poker is a whole other art form, and it is glorious :)

Me too. I have a tough time calculating pot in live poker. Online poker gives a lot of spare .e tal capacity to focus on strategy by calculating pot and bets.

I quite often feel the opposite case. When I play live a play a bit tighter and use the information I get a lot better. I'm a very visual person so being able to see how people react is huge for me. I miss out on this information and the pieces just dont connect as well. My bluff range is much tighter live as I feel I can use my body and face as a way to make people feel more like they can't figure me out. I still gotta get hands in and practice different spots so i play for smaller stakes online and practice my lines.

Only time I played a live game was a cash game, made a nice profit. But that was only time I ever played live and I surprised myself that time because I thought I'd be crap as I only ever played online.

a lot of fish play online poker, so you feel better in live poker, the game is more discreet and people play more experienced and there you will feel like an average player
