Do you think you can outlast some CardsChat pros and gurus in a wsop event? Let's see who does it this year!

CardsChat will be having it's 8th WSOP team event in June. Members will have the opportunity to outlast bracelet winner Ryan Laplante and others in the WSOP Colossus event.

The Colossus tournament starts on Wed, June 26th and ends on Saturday, June 29th. The buy-in is $400 and there are 2 starting flights. It is a re-entry event that will run for 4 days.

Flight 61A - 10am Wednesday, June 26
Flight 61B - 10am Thursday, June 27

The event will be a last longer challenge and the team will consist of 8-16 members. We are taking names now for those who are interested and CardsChat members are welcome to join in! All CardsChat members with 40+ posts are eligible to participate. If you have less than that you have plenty of time to get there so I will accept your sign-up pending you reaching it before the event (but your spot is not reserved until you do).

As we add members they will need to post in this thread to introduce themselves and give us a little bit of background on their poker experience and history. Link your Twitter account please.

Cardschat will pay $150 of each team member's $400 entry into the event. (You can re-enter once per flight but we only pay the $150 for your 1st entry). You are responsible for your own transportation and expenses to get to the event.

The team member who lasts the longest will get $400!

-In the event that no one makes Day 2 of the event, we will determine the winner of the last longer by highest cash earned in the tournament. You can start in either flight - however it is preferable that you start in Flight A on Wednesday so we can all be there on the same day. You must meet ALL requirements before getting paid. I will not be chasing you down to fulfill the requirements - including posting in this thread, so you could lose your spot if you don't take care of them in a timely manner. :)

Team members will be required to:
  1. Post their introduction to the team in this thread with full name and flight expected to play along with a link to their Twitter account.
  2. Participate in this rail thread. (or post their tournament updates in Twitter).
  3. Wear a CardsChat hoodie, sweatshirt or t-shirt and use a CardsChat card protector throughout the entire event. (They will be provided by CardsChat unless you have already been given one in a previous event. (They must have the logo on the back). Baseball caps and t-shirts will be provided if they are going to be worn. Hoodies may be placed on the back of your chair - however if you are being televised or streamed either the hoodie, a CC tshirt or a CC cap must be visible.
  4. Follow us in Twitter and tweet a picture of yourself wearing your CC gear and mention/tag @CardsChat.
  5. Tweet a picture of your chip stack or your cards with your card protector and mention/tag @CardsChat.
All of the above must be done before you receive your $150 - plus you need to already be registered for the event. You will not be eligible for the last longer prize if you do not wear CC gear and use your card protector during the entire event.

I am definitely joining the party. Expect to play Flight A (and B if I don't advance from A)

I played poker in university back in the early 70s (seven card stud), but did not really start playing seriously until I saw WPT and WSOP on television. I play live 2-3 times a year in Las Vegas, but usually play live at Seneca Niagara in Niagara Falls, New York. I play $1-2 ($1-3 in Vegas), with the occasional small tournament (30 - 50 players). My success in tournaments is rare, maybe two cashes in 10 or so tries. I am a slight winner in cash over the years...not much, but enough to keep me interested and dreaming of "The Big One!).

Thanks Debi! Honored to be included again and sooo excited!!!! Just realized it is kind of running in to the July 4th weekend. I'm supposed to be meeting people (including hubby) in Colorado on the 29th June. Does anyone know what day you cash in the Colossus? I think last year it was near the end of day one. Is the 29th just final table? Anyway I'm thinking that if I'm still playing on the 29th I'll have some $ to change my flight and a really good reason for being late to our long weekend get together. :) Fingers crossed I'm late :)

Hi Debi and all,

I would love to be apart of this. I am playing day 2's flight 61B as I can't be sure my flight would arrive in time for day 1 and I dont want to miss the start of my 2nd WSOP event.

My name is Ken but many people know me by my nickname "LUVEPOKER" I have been playing poker since I was a kid but really got into it in 2003. I have played the bar games and many times in the casino as well. I usually play about 7-10 live tournaments each year and have been doing well overall. I have won a daily tournament in Vegas in 2009 at the Aladdin casino. I have won my way into the WSOP in 2012 for a 1K event #33 where I was just missed the money outlasting 2300 players. I missed winning a live deep stacks title at the World Tavern Poker open in 2015 when I took 2nd place in the event. I have played in several WSOP circuit events at Foxwoods casino in the last few years just missing a cash last year. Over the last few years I have been working hard on my game so I can take a shot a higher level games and plan to play in my 1st WPT main event at the Playground Underground this year in October. I would be truly honored to be picked to be part of the team playing this year in the WSOP.

George Mulry here.

I'm in again this year. My wife and I will be headed there. Flight and room booked. I will be playing Day 1 A on Wednesday unless there is a flight delay as we arrive Tuesday night.

Looking forward to the new structure this year as the 5K chips last year was rough.

Love this game and someday I will get good at it, been studying more this winter to help improve.

Can't wait to see everyone there.

Hi George,

Sorry to say I am not near Foxwoods but its my favorite. I am 3 hours away in NY. I do have a card room just 3 miles away but I dont like it and would rather travel to Foxwoods or Turning stone. Hopefully I get picked for this and we can meet in Vegas. I am so psyched about going back to the WSOP this year. With younger kids this option does not happen for me at all anymore. Its funny that a week ago my wife game me the option to go to one of the mega-stack challenge next month or to Vegas for the WSOP, my flight and room was booked 15 minutes later. I will PM you next time I head to foxwoods.

shoot! I know I said I'd make any team event work....but after looking at my work schedule I don't think I can. the wednesday/thursday combo is the worst for me because my work week is Tues/wed/thurs/friday which means I have to miss a whole week! the week of no pay is more expensive for me than the plane tickets, hotel and tourney buy ins! eek.

My name is Joao Cabral & I am Canadian. Born and raised in Terrace ,British Columbia canada. Terrace is a small city with the population of around 20,000. I am a single Father of two boys. I have been playing poker seriously since online around 2000. I have played recreationally with friends and family growing up before that. But got very serious playing when I found poker online.I don't play online much anymore for specific reasons I rather not talk about. But this will be my second time in the USA.The first time I was only 5 years old and don't remember much, plus it was only a short stop in Boston going to portugal where my Parents are from. I have been dreaming of this day for a long time to go to the USA the place where dreams come true.I love the USA and its beauty. I cant wait. Also its been a dream of mine to play in the WSOP for as long as I can remember.I would watch it on tv any chance I got growing up. Cant believe this is finally happening after so many years of grinding online. It was all for leading up to this my dream of playing in the WSOP. :)

There are still spots available on the team. So if you know for a fact you will be there make an intro post in this thread and include the details that are outlined in the first post. :)
