It does for me.

Ideally - I always want to play in-position (PIP) and I never want to play out of position (OOP).

Because of this I will generally raise less if i am PIP because I want to draw the villain into calling and making him play OOP.

It's usually a mistake for him to just call.

Position is the 1st lesson in CardsChat's free course:

Good luck !

What is your position relative to your opponent is one of the important aspects of the game.

One of the first things I learned at poker was the positions, and for some there is lot of material to read about it, so, yes, its a huge impact at my play.

Knowing what your opponent will do before your play will always be to your advantage.

Things like this are topics that deserve a lot more than a couple of lines in a post. Poker Mike made a great suggestion above about CCs poker course (free) and I can only underline that.

If it doesn't - you are probably doing it wrong

The better question would be how does it change?

If real estate is all about location, location, location, then poker is all about position, position, position.

Of course, the position of the player at the table is a fundamental factor that must be taken into account when making decisions. Otherwise, it just doesn't make sense to play poker. :)
