of course, if you go in with the idea you cant win, you probably wont,
or if you start out thinking you will only play for a bit, chances are you make bad decisions based on the time you have left. So the best way to approach playing poker is have the time and patience and make good decisions.

Everything is inseparable from each other. You can win tournaments without knowing the theory, but with great skill. But without a developed poker mindset, it is impossible to take high places in tournaments, gain experience and progress

You aren't a skilled poker player if you don't have the right mindset. If you get tilted too easily then you can never expect good long term results because crazy bad beats are bound to happen eventually.

Do you think you should have a good mindset to win in poker or do you only need skills?

Without a doubt having the right mindset is essential to being succesful

With a great skillset but a poor mindset you may win some of the time but will likely lose it back (or punt it off on bad habits like casino games) in the long run

The right mindset with no skills won't work either because you need good mechanics and strategies to be successful... but, usually a part of that right mindset is having a desire to learn and improve your strategy which in the long run will give you the best of both worlds.

In my upcoming book (should be released this fall) I actually put mindset as the first chapter of the book because when you have the right mindset, everything else naturally falls into place, it's just a matter of time and practice (which the right mindset will make you want to do both of!)

Of course, the mood is very important for the game of poker. The quality of the decisions you make depends on your mood. You should always work on the emotional side of your game and never play with a bad or unimportant mood.

I think mind set is way more important. and if you are lucky in life, you don't need skill. just good sharp rested positive mentality. and think of positive things you want and with the power of the mind and law of attraction you will attract what ever you want into your life.

Hi!
I think the right thing is positive thinking and skills, these are the cornerstones of poker, one does not work without the other. It is impossible to melt steel from iron (skills) without quenching(positive thinking).

Of course, the mood plays an important role, but the variance unfortunately solves everything:)

Its mostly skills. But without a proper mindset your skills would never advance. You should have the mindset of improving your poker skills.

That being said IMO the player with the greatest mindset wouldnt beat a computer with the greatest skills. Or even a player with the greatest skills.

The better the mood, the more winnings!)
You need to sit down at the poker table only in a good mood, otherwise the player will make a lot of mistakes.

You need a poker mindset. And it has nothing to do with the mind and iq. Rather, it has to do with psychology and the correct understanding of the entire structure of the game. One should calmly treat losses as an inevitable part of the game and don't tilt after loses. It's the most important. And the mathematics of the game can be studied later )))
