I got moved table immediately. Heads up with someone I didn't have any information on this was the first hand.

75/150 blinds 15 ante

I'm BB
Hero stack size 23,290

Enemy has 11,710

Hand begins;
Enemy dealt Kd 5h
Enemy calls BB

Hero dealt Kc3c
Hero raise 470

Enemy calls (970pot)

Flop;
3s Kh 7s

Hero raise 480
Enemy calls (1.92k pot)

Turn;
9d

Hero raises 970
Enemy calls again (3.86k pot)

River;
9c

Hero raises 1.90k
Enemy goes all in 9.86k

I call . I see his cards and think it will be a chop until he gets the whole pot. What is the reason for this I don't understand we both had two pair? It was a split pot right . I put it on share my pair and the software runs it out as a split pot too I know he obviously didn't think I was going to call but I thought he was bluffing trip 9s with some sort of flush draw or low pair. I dunno how I lost I managed to comeback but I eventually lost,those chips might of made the difference , I tried includingy everything hopefully as clear as possible thank you for your time.

I see the same 2 pair with a 7 kicker. No idea how you lost that pot.

Do you have access to your hand history? Because for the information that you gave, this was clearly a split pot.

Sounds like a split pot to me as well. I would love to see the hand history or a replay of the hand to see as well.

As others have said, this should be a split pot, so you probably misread something. Maybe he had 8h and not 5h, as you thought. Whenever I am unsure, why I lost a hand, I always look at it in a replayer right away. Either the one provided by the poker site or the one in my PokerTracker4.

I agree with all of the above; based on what you posted, it should have been a split, but the most like explanation is that you miss-read what your opponent had.

There was a 4h in the flop, not a 7s. That's why you lost the hand in fact.
Yes, kicker plays.

Holy hard to read! I tried to enlarge, but I just made a fuzzier version of about the same size.

As the hand history says: you have "Two pairs, Kings and Nines with a Four kicker". Your opponent has "Two pairs, Kings and Nines with a Five kicker"

Yep , thats it, when the pair of 3s become irrelevant , he just had a better kicker.

As the others say, it is best to read the history as it helps solve the issue of how it was not a split pot. However, the question is how did you lose this hand which is due to the fact that your bet was not large enough on each street to get him to fold as he was just calling the entire way to the river and then he tried to buy the pot. His move was completely wrong in this scenario as he was likely behind based on your betting but that was the only chance he had to win it with the horrible kicker.

Sorry for the loss there.

This is a rare and unpleasant situation. If you claim that it was a heads up, then the other player wouldn't have dropped their hand. His kicker started to matter on the river. He's just a lucky guy.
