Hello everyone, how was your first time playing poker with real money?
My first time was in a live casino, I was very excited.
From that moment I was fascinated with live poker and whenever I can, I turn around the casino to play Texas Holdem poker.
I didn't have good results that time, since I lost all my stack with a full house.
But from that day on, I started to study poker more and although I still have a lot to learn, I remember that day when I felt very ashamed of losing so fast.
Today I see defeat as part of this wonderful game. And I feel that losing a poker is not death, but it makes no sense to lose for losing. Some teaching can leave us that bitter taste.

Regards and gl!

every start is very difficult especially in poker as lack of experience doesn't help and makes us make mistakes that don't help the results

It was difficult to call this a game, random action on all streets is a more appropriate name.:D It's funny to even remember.:D

Hi.
I started playing online poker three years ago.
My first deposit was $ 20. I lost this money in two hours. But I liked this game, and since then, I have been playing poker regularly, 3-4 days a week. Good luck.

I played poker with real money for the first time in the late 70s in home games with friends.

Feel bad about some situations to this day - because some people didn't have enough money to pay their debts and had to pay me with books, watches and other stuff.

Do not play with money against friends (at least at stakes they (or you) can't afford).

I played my first poker game online and I was excited like hell.
It was around 12 years ago.
But recently I also played my first live game for money and I was also thrilled about. I played 3 live games in a row and I really liked them and even could cash in one of them good.

The first time I played poker.

Good afternoon everyone.
I remember perfectly well the first time I played poker, it was a cash game table at pokerstars, limit hold'em, almost 1 year ago.
I knew very little about how to play, what were the best hands, every hand I won celebrated a lot.
And at that time I studied the game, hands to play from each position, began to understand about the possible range of hands that the villain plays from each position, and evolved.
Today on 28/09/2019, I was in 2nd place in the cadschat freeroll at pokerstars, hit the post but I will drive this tournament.
Decisive hand hero AhJh vs 44, today the villain took, I was in 2nd place.

I played live poker for the first time about 9 years ago. It was a $70 buy-in. There were 70 players with 10 at each table. They moved me around quite a bit and my final hand was with AJo. I was down to my last 10 big blinds, and as you probably know, AJo does not play very well post-flop when it misses. I finished in 21st place. I was down to the final 3 tables, and I was happy with what I accomplished.

You can tell you are up against a regular by the way he looks at you. He is studying you over so he can decide what he wants to do next.

Do not hold your breath when you are bluffing. I saw Tom Dwan do this to Phil Ivy on an enormous bluff in High Stakes Poker. You could almost see Dwan sweat on TV. It was such an obvious call!

It takes practice to hide your emotions from an experienced player. You may catch a read on a fishy opponent subconsciously, and make a good decision. That will come with experience.

One time I had AA and I bet 5X the big blinds. I thought it such an obvious overbet, but I read in an article that it's not a horrible play. Sometimes you don't want your aces to get outdrawn. It's not a bad move for a beginner playing with live money for the first time.

Good luck with your poker game, I hope this thread helps, and I hope your luck doesn't come back to bite me in the butt!:D

i was extremely nervous. it was during the height of the poker boom during the mid-late 2000s. i had no idea how easily tilted i could get and how emotionally i could be invested in a $1 mtt/sng. as i got games under me and started learning about the game including bankroll management, i started to find my way and become a winning player. took hours, days, weeks, and months and a couple account reloads to learn lessons and build upon that

My first time was online (November 2018), I deposited $ 10 and lost very fast. Playing with fictional money and real money is completely different, that's when I started studying, reading books and watching videos.

Three years ago, I first played in a tournament for real money. I really enjoyed the pleasant feeling of excitement and euphoria, and I realized that I would play this game for the rest of my life.

IT depends what you consider real money game. If you include here also the home games with friends for few cents (which was by far my first real money game) and freerolls then i do not remember anything special about these games as they were only for fun. If you mean tournaments where you invest some of your money or live games in casino - well it was combination of excitement and some nervousness at least in my case.

I played with friends, but online, with real money not so long ago. Each tournament a different emotion, I am studying my game and hope that the results will come soon. Although I have so much fun!

Hello.
My first cash game was about a year ago. Although I lost $ 50, I liked the game. I just suddenly realized that I was better off playing freerolls.

Made a deposit with online and wasn’t much money maybe $20 and play many hours or days with it before busted. Can’t remember much about it there were so many hands and was fun.
I do remember the first time I went to casino play 1-3 NLHE. My hands were shaky throwing chips into the pot. So much more nervous live than the comforts of home playing micro levels.
