Playing low buy in tournaments in poker stars is like go all in or fold. I was Playing on full tilt years ago and quit when they almost robbed me more than $100.00 when they have problems to continue working on Usa. Im Trying right now again to beliave. But i foung that everything ha changed.

I can provide some perspective on this since I only started playing online about 2 months ago. Previously, I had been playing only live tournaments with $100 - $500 buy-ins. Online, I'm playing $1, $3, $5 and $10 buy-in tournaments. These tournaments required a definite play adjustment. The play is much wilder, and more aggressive. Players seem more willing to call with mediocre hands. Also, the tournaments seem to be all turbo or hyper, so that adds to the variance quite a bit since it doesn't take long for the stacks to become short. For online play, I tightened up my range a bit and I don't c-bet as much unless I actually hit the flop. Short stack play didn't change much. If you don't like the craziness, I recommend playing at least a $5 tournament because the $1 and $3 ones seem to be the craziest. Play has actually been pretty good at the $5 and $10 ones. So far, I've had decent success. I recently won a couple of nice cashes for a total of about $330 in a $10 tournament and a $5 tournament. You just have to accept that you will bust out pretty often due to bad beats since some players refuse to fold and will sometimes hit their miracle card on the river.

It all depends on the qualities of the people at the table. Someone plays tight on small bets, and someone pushes all in everything in a row because for him the amount of loss is not so terrible.

Pretty much any buy-in is going to less loose-aggressive/wild/crazy when blinds are longer (10 mins+, especially with no late registration) and/or 50/50 S&Gs. People tend to play more conservatively in those games.

The Sunday Storm is kind of an exception. It is usually an $11 buy-in with $150K+ prize pool and the play is fanatical during the first couple of hours. I think that is because even though the blinds are at 10 minute intervals the late registration period is 2 1/2 hrs which is lots of time for lots of people to come and go (which they do).

Be patient not to make stupid mistakes to play your game whithout trying to repeat what you do not understand.

Playing at low micro limits is very tough, because for some players chips aren’t worth it and they often play all in even with a weak hand, you have to be patient. In the middle and late stages of the tournament, the game makes sense.

True. As tournament goes in a pay places most of the players getting more serious, so building a wallet from low tournaments is very hard. Try to catch monster or 2 pairs on flop so you are in a good position to win the hand. In the early stages players seems not interested in waiting and building a stack as the starting investment is low and they have almost no damage from losing the tour. Good luck with micro - low stake you will need it.

In low buy in tournaments people play like crazy indeed , very loose and aggressively . But no reason to be afraid . If you play smart , knowing when to go for the next hand by folding , and when to outsmart them and take all their stack in a big hand , trying to trap their aggressiveness , they will pay you big .

Be carefull with bluffs , they call too much , many times ATC Also if they get the info you are tight/afraid , they're going to bluff you big time everytime , making your game decisions difficut

I used to play live tournaments and I prefer it. But right now Im struguling witn a bac hernieted disk and I cant go to the casinos any more. Very bad bad. I have to figured out how to play profitable on pokerstars.

How do you do in pokerstars or you prefer another site?

I really like Pokerstars. I play there almost exclusively, a little on ACR. Stars has the most games and the most players which is important to me.

When you get >25bb in these tournaments expect a lot of open and 3-bet jamming .. eliminate QQ+ from most players range in these spots ...

Being all-in preflop is part of a winning poker strategy depending on stack sizes, hand strength, positions and action. So I am not really sure, I understand, why you think, its "crazy"? And even if it is sometimes "crazy", then why is it a problem, that your opponents are bad and make mistakes? Finally what games are you playing? "Low buy in tournaments" can mean many different things.
