sorry estelle, need something to keep me warm running in downtown stl. liquor seems to have a knack for that, haha

And also, we're planning a Vegas meeting type thing for this coming summer, in case you didn't know.

Since the quote is only talking about games that are appropriate for men to play, comparing baseball and poker, you can apply that against a women's hobbies as well. For women, cooking, cleaning, ironing, etc. could all replace baseball I guess..... :p :D  j/k

Lol, OMG, do you really want to go there?? How many women are in here to back me up?

Oh really, well I didnt know about the meeting. Since I'm already here, I'll probably be there. When is it?

Um, and back to the liquor, haha, warmth I guess is an issue, but when I drink, I get a bit wild, and cant control myself, so I tend to stay away from that stuff, lol.

Haha, exactly, and well, thats not too good for my body either, and I try to stay in shape so. And yes, definitely some amazing stories, but I doubt its content that I can share on this forum, lol.

And about the meet, we should get a game going live when we do get a few people here to meet.

Welly do you know anyone else with plans to go to the WSOP? A previous forum I was in got together and represented that forum in one event. I don't think they were sponsored, just got little logos on their shirts, and ect. I don't know if there will be a copyright issue, or something else (sorry not so knowledgable on these kinds of things) but it would be pretty nice if a few more people form this forum got together, and then represented.

Someone from here played in a stud event last year. I forget who it was now. Someone help me out in remembering.

As joose says we've had a discussion about meeting around early July (around the time of the main event). Have you got a house that will fit 20 people? ;)

I try to run everyday, or did when I was in NY, not much since I've got to Vegas, lol. You're exactly like me on Fast food and soda, first person ive met that does that too.

Estelle, just wondering why you would even bother playing online. YOu live in Vegas, when I have gone there it seems to me that there are lots of tourists playing poker and giving their money away. I'd think you'd be at the casinos taking their money.

I assume convenience would play a part in that. We have 5 casinos here in Edmonton and I next to never play at the B&Ms. I prefer to sit in the comfort of my own home.

Welly wear something exotic, or just nothing at all and they will put you on TV, maybe only for a second.

Are you going to be wearing CC gear?

I had a CardsChat hat on when I played in the 2006 WSOP Stud H/L Event. And I'd love to go back again this year. I think it'd be cool if the forum could send an "official" qualifier.

As much as I like CC, I wont be wearing any branded gear (of any sort).

It's one of these strange little pet hates i've got. I have a dislike for Doyle wearing a cowboy hat with Doyles Room on it, I have a dislike for Chris Ferguson doing the same with a 'Full Tilt' logo on the front, and I have a dislike for the 1000's of pokerstars T-shirts.

Chris Ferguson putting that logo-ed hat on changed him from looking like an all-round smokey-den old-school bad-ass, into a mickey mouse look-a-like.

It was me! :D

Well, best of luck this year Welly. It's a truly amazing experience. Regardless of where you finish, it will make you a better player. And even when you aren't playing it's fun to watch other tables and see how the pros are playing.

Well, I just recently moved to Vegas a few months ago, so still adjusitng. Been playing online a whole lot longer, but I got out of that too, unitl just a few months ago when I started playing online again.

On weekdays, I work two jobs, one day job part time, 3 days a week sitting at a computer (which is where I chat on forums like this or play some online poker) and another job at night. So, on the weekdays/nights its hard for me to actually find time to just relax and play poker at the casinos. So most likely you'll see me online late at nights becuase of my hectic hours. I do go sometimes on weekends, now and then, but once again I work nights on weekends at times. And well, I go out with friends a lot on weekends, so, once again the lack of time element.

So to answer your question shortly, on why people in Vegas play on the internet still---convinience. Well, for me at least. Oh, and well, lack of money. I've won a couple freerolls online to get some money online, but besides that I'm not the richest girl in the world.

That's a fun idea, the official qualifier thing, but how would that work, going about picking a person or two?

I'm sure some sort of league could be arranged. Pay $20 a week for 10 weeks with x number of people and you could probably send 2 people to the WSOP.
