I love poker because of the competition. It combines some many different things. There is strategy, storytelling, reading, psychology, the list goes on and on. I cannot really participate in a lot of competitive sports anymore but I can in poker and I love to compete, no matter the stakes I am playing for. I have mentioned in a few posts that I am a lawyer and I use those same skills competing in the courtroom (although this is a game and there it is peoples lives..well, not literally, I don't do crim law any longer). Poker keeps me sharp at my job and I think my job keeps me sharp at poker. Funny thing is, I used to hate poker even though I was super lucky. I have another post on here about how I got into poker because of a girl (it's in the What do you think of girls in poker thread, if your interested), but I thought it was all luck. It wasn't until she taught me the game and the strategy and
odds and reading players and...well, you get the idea. That I fell in love with the game (more than the girl, who is living somewhere in Indiana with a dork she met on WoW).
