This is a discussion on Who have you met at the table? within the online poker forums, in the General Poker section; One of the biggest things I enjoy about poker is the diverse range of people you get to meet.
Who is the most interesting/memorable person
Not sure, that i have met any interesting person. Just players and poker bots sometimes. You know, famous top players usually plays on high limits, and we are here just the beginners for them and we can,t play the limits, that they play. So, it,s really hard to met any interesting person.

Who is the most interesting/memorable person you have met on the felt?
Was it your idol? Someone famous? A poker great? A future friend/partner? Or just someone... different?
Poker definitely brings a range of people together. In my live Casino game the range is from the good and friendly to the downright plain nasty.
A few of the nasty ones...
Costa, the Romanian debt collector who could quite easily kill you
One or two bouncer types from the nightclubs around Jo'burg (just charming), who moonlight as henchmen/bodyguards .
A guy that used to play professional sports but was banned for match-fixing (Gulam Bodi).
A nice range of charming creepy, dishonest people, that would dig into your pockets and steal your money if they could.
Online I ran into someone who was nice enough to deposit $15 in my account. We were just chatting about rugby, and then he took me out AA over KK. Next thing I know I've got $15.00 from him as a deposit.
I have met a lot of "Poker Pro's" Moneymaker, Esfandiari, Hellmuth ... Let me stop there, pretty much a lot of the ones you would know. When I say I have met them I mean been at the table with them. I really have not "met" one that I would go out of my way to get to know. In Poker environment the only person that I instantly liked was Norman Chad. I think that is because he gives off a vibe of not being full of himself. When I go to play poker I am not out to make friends, I have enough friends, so I am sure a lot of those "Poker Pro's" I have "met" are nice people but I am just there for the money.
"you can't get rich in politics unless you're a crook" Attributed in different variations to President Harry S. Truman and very true.
