This is a discussion on What is your favorite position at the table? within the online poker forums, in the General Poker section; My favorite position is the middle of the table so I can see everyone without problem and I feel more comfortable playing from there.
Button is usually most people's answer but sometimes you don't receive any respect from this position I quite like the cutoff personally as well as the button obviously. If you have a weaker player to your left it's like having two buttons in a row
If you feel good in middle position, you will have an even bigger advantage on the button. On all streets, you are the last to make a decision and can more accurately judge the actions of your opponents. In addition, this is the most favorable position for stealing blinds, which becomes crucial as the tournament approaches the finish line.
Favorite position at the table is not the starting position for me but more of the physical, who's on my right and who's on my left. Aggression or passive and what skill level the are. Obviously having position on the other player in the pot is very important as well.
My favorite position at the table is undoubtedly the button, as I have seen the actions in front of me, and I have a position on the last ones to speak, so if I have a lot of action before I can fold hands that are not going to flop very well, and if I have a raise and two calls for example I can flirt with hands that play well in multi-way pots, not to mention that if the SB and BB are very nit opponents I can open my open raise range much more, so I don't see a better position to playing poker than the button
Wouldn't the best seat at the poker table, at least from a risk management standpoint, be the dealer seat? I mean think of it: they have zero chance of losing (since they aren't in the game) and they get paid at the end of every night, so they always "win" a small but steady amount - no variance and downswings; plus, no bad beats to worry about!
p.s. I am not a dealer by job, but my approach sounds correct doesn't it?
I particularly like MP and high jack... Those positions allow you mix your game and it's quite hard to have a good hand reading if you play it right... Different from early positions you know?! Ep normally you put the villain in a quite strong range.. it's easier for me to have a reading
Well ... without a doubt it is the Button is my favorite position .... it is clear that being the last to act gives a great advantage over what the opponents have done ... the key is to know how to get the most out of it from that position ...!
without a doubt the position in which the action mode is, controlling the table and the opponents, being able to bluff to remove better hands than mine, this is fantastic, because the control makes the opponent show Your strength and especially your weakness ...
