The difference is big in online you play without pressure sometimes depending a lot on luck, in live it's luck and your technique, your study and your mentality.
In live poker, you can see who you are playing against, in online poker not. I only play online at the moment and I like the fact that I am not tied to time when I want to play and I don't have to leave the house when I want to play poker. There is no difference in poker itself, the rules that exist online also apply in live poker.
online is much faster, you can play several tables at the same time, everything is more automated, you don't worry about tells, they are the most visible differences
I played offline 2 times, the first is that you can't clearly control who has how many chips, you can only imagine, the second is that there are players who think for a long time it's unnerving, there were players who drank a lot at the table and played it is unclear how, after each hand they went all in, dealers are a special topic, one distributes normally the other only garbage cards, I had to wait until he was replaced😀
I play online for convenience, at home I can play walking, sitting, lying down, eating, drinking, juice, talking, answering the phone, face-to-face is cool, you can see the expressions of the opponents, feel the victories better
The difference is the way it's played your cards are dealt by a computer not a person the cards are repeated by the computer which you would never find when a person is dealing! which i have experimented with the help of my friends and two decks of cards 2 different dealers and not once did if get the same hand twice in a row in 10 deals from each dealer.Online i have had the same hand three times in a row in the same mtt at different tables that's the real difference. Now this is only my opinion but it is something for you to think about.
There are some differences. In online poker you can play far more hands and therefore you can learn way quicker. You can play several tables at the same time and you can play for playmoney if you are a beginner. In live poker (at least in a casino) the buyins are quite large and you have play against real people which can be intimidating. But both are very cool.
Live is 20 times easier, although you can't turn the chat off. Toxic and smoking players are the worst. A little compensation is their reactions when they get owned.
You obviously will be able to get better reads on people live, and people will be able to get better reads on you. But it's also a lot easier to pick your opponents live. You can visually see if someone has had too much to drink or is just having fun and trying the game.
You are less distracted by having to read tells live and more focused on actual action facts in online poker. Online poker also counts everything for you which makes it easier to calculate pot odds and implied odds.
I believe the biggest difference between the two is the game read and variance. In live games you know your opponents personally, if you play regularly at a club or a local casino for example, you know the hours, customs, inclinations of each opponent and that brings a lot of useful psychological information to your game, in online you have the amount and variety of games that are available but it can only read the betting patterns of each opponent, so attention is directed to different details so you can take advantage.
at the live game you can see the real luck you have , from what I noticed you can be dead card all day long and you just can't play a hand ; so online you get at least an average pair, some aces with good kiker ... it works online, compared to the live poker game ... but maybe it's just my opinion
