The main thing I love is that it’s a difficult and crazy game. It reminds me of golf. Many people play and you can play for many years and still be sub par. At least with poker, you can play without throwing out your back. Been there.

One thing I like a lot is that everyone starts with the same number of chips and everyone has the same chance of winning. You can play daily or just on weekends, but when the tournaments start, everyone has the chance to be a champion.

Hearing all kinds of interesting and funny poker phrases from my experienced poker coworker friend that played in Atlantic City his entire life lol! He's heading to Vegas in December to play. Says he will spend about 6 hours in hotel for sleep each night and the rest grinding for a week straight. He plays hi-lo as he says hold'em is just too slow for him now as his main game but still plays often. I haven't even begun to look into mixed games...

That, and finally getting to all these books I've been meaning to get through, the game never ends in knowledge, no matter what book I read, I learn something new each time. The game is absolutely endless in learning!

The thrills of a roller coaster ride that the game often is. the highs and lows, twists and turns all add to the excitement of that all-in situation that you must win to stay in the game.
That and the fact that the game is so universal and it does not matter which language a person speaks even though you may not understand what a person is saying the game plays exactly the same no matter where you come from.
Play the game simply for the love of the game and it never gets boring, and it does not matter what stakes I play for. even match sticks and the game is still fun.

For me, the love of the game is the competitive aspect of tournament poker. When I was young and had hopes and dreams of doing more in sports is what make me happy. Then I go hurt and the hope and dreams were over but worse was just being able to compete. While making a living off my sport was not the hope is was just the dream of making it that drove me.

A few years after I was unable to compete poker took off. Again it is not becoming a professional or making money that drives me but just the thrill of playing and someday s winning a tournament. Today I play for the thrill of it all and my hope is still to just win one tournament that matters. Not the money but to just be that guy who wins the title and gets his picture with his ring, bracelet or trophy at the table with the winning hand. Have come close to living the dream. Just finished 2nd. Someday................ i hope.

What I love about poker

What I like about poker is being at the table with other poker players just like me and everybody knowing how to play and kicking everybodys ass. But I love the ups and downs, the people you meet and just the game in general.
