When you have a bad day playing, what is the best way to get back on your best :confused:game?

Maybe take a day off, do some mind & body restorative stuff like exercise & productive things. Come back with a calm, happy, clear head.

In such cases, I take a break in the game.

I think it would be best not to continue playing if not the next day, is what I usually do time since when I continued playing I ended up without a bank

If it's difficult enough for you to have to ask in a forum, I doubt a day off is going to help enough. Take a week or several weeks off. This was a very hard and expensive lesson I learned. Eventually I got to a point where I can recover from tilt in 30 minutes if it's not too bad of a bad beat or something.

If it's a whole day of tilt you've already let things get too far. Fix that first.

You are human. You have emotions. It's okay and even expected to some degree...but playing when you let your emotions take over is asking for problems.

You need to realize when you're tilting and what causes you to tilt. When you understand these things you can quickly prepare yourself and make choices to move past it.

You also need to accept the fact...that when you play...shit happens. It wont be the last time either. Just because you have a 94% chance before the river doesnt mean you'll always get there. Or that someone called you with nothing all the way to the river then got lucky. Or you got slowrolled. Or bluffed and ducked out. The list is endless but these DO HAPPEN. It's part of playing and something you need to accept. Period.

Past looking at your own game and maybe you having some sort of tendency that is flawed...you need to figure out how to handle it. And how you know you're past it. Are you playing your A game? Do you realize you're suddenly playing much looser? Or are wildly aggressive for no reason? Chasing pots? 3 betting or 4 betting expecting constant folds? Too often bluffing?

Would a calmer...non tilted you...make the same choices you're making? If the answer is no...and/or you're doing any of the above then you've at least come to the conclusion you're not in a good frame of mind.

Take a break. Walk away from the table. Shut off the computer. Whatever you need to do to remove yourself from the situation until you are mentally ready to play again. You need to find what works for you.

Understand. Accept. Reset.

I totally agree. I just learned that very recently to find out why you tilt, and stop it in its tracks. I block chat, and dont let ppl in my head for starters. That was a huge problem for me. Thanks again

Hi.
For me, the best way in such cases is to take a break, relax.
I am trying to accumulate enough patience to keep the game under control.
Good luck.

If I play in tournaments and I have bad days and some losses then I just wait for the next day again for the same tournaments to try to win in them, but sometimes I take a break for a couple of days and then I continue to play!

First thing is to take a break so that you are sure that you are not on tilt anymore. Depending on the person and situation you may need from few minutes to few hours or even a day to regain your mind. When done try to analyze your game from that bad day. If you have some recording history software return to key hands that caused major loss to your and see how you played. See if you would play them the same way when you are with calm mind. If you see that you made errors try to avoid them in future. If you played well but just got into loosing streak - well that happens. You should just accept it and try to not allow it to tilt you.

Going Full Tilt

Many times after a bad beat, I will go all in with any two cards. I also watch for others to do this, so that I can profit from their tilt moves.

Even if i know the maths and they says it is 4% to lose the hand, when that 4% comes i feel bad, when it comes twice in a row i feel very angry. I take a break.

Sometimes it's really easy to keep playing when you're up and hard to stop when you're losing. This is because you're trying to get back even and tilting harder causing you to keep losing more. As hard as it is you need to just take a break even if you're down and come back because you can always have an upswing with you're clear head.

I find exercise is a great stress relief. Go to the gym, a rum or even just a walk can help clear and focus tje mind.

Another thing you can do is review the hand or session that caused you to tilt. My make find a leak in your game which you can focus in fixing. Or maybe you did everything right and the other guy just got lucky, in which case you can console yourself that you made the right play and in the long run a profitable one.

I feel the only time I get tilted is when playing online tournaments and get runner runner 2%ed after flopping the nuts putting me on short stack. I'll often open my range up too much for my push and most of the time it will cost me the rest. With that said, once I move to a new game I am usually recovered whether immediately or another day

Nobody loves tilt! I hate it! But unfortunaly,it is a part of the game... I always lose more money while tilted(almost never can't stop playing) and it is bad. It is bad to not recognize the tilt and keep playing tilted (like me). Probably the best advise is to take a brake and study more poker! Just recognize the tilt before entering more tournaments after losing a lot of buy-ins!
