1) There are no conveniences available like statistics, HUDs, or that tracker that always tells you the pot size. You have to do these things for yourself. On the other hand, your opponents are right there, so pay attention.

This is the biggest failure I've seen with these on-line hot-shots: they don't pay attention, and they pay big time for their folly. It is harder to pay attention live due to all the distractions. Most card rooms have big screen TVs playing, there's more noise, and you can't turn off chat live.

2) You will put more money at risk. There simply are no nickle and dime live games. The lowest stakes at the vast majority of casinos is $1.00/$2.00 no-limit with a $200 max buy. I would strongly suggest staying away from any small stakes fixed or spread limit games: the rake at these games is so larcenous that they are unbeatable.

Live players also tend to open for more than do on-line players where a 3XBB open is pretty standard. Live expect to see 12XBB opens. Live players typically want the hand to end right now because they're afraid of post flop play.

On the upside, expect weaker players. Live, the rec-fish aren't playing every day. On-line, a rec-fish quickly goes broke or improves.

3) Expect a slower pace. A live dealer can't match an RNG when it comes to dealing the cards. Also, you don't tip an RNG, and it's customary to tip the dealer, but that can really cut into your EV.

4) Temptations are everywhere. If your name goes on a wait list, then wait until a table opens. Don't "wait" at a Blackjack table or you just might find yourself sans buy-in when your name is called.

5) You often will meet bubbling persons at casino tables. Someone who went here just for fun will not for cash really love to speak about everithing. I am sure you met such guys when you played online poker. But they have just chat and keyboatds instead of many ears ready to listen (as they think).

6) You often will meet somebody drunked or near drunked. Who here not for play poker but just for "drink and rest".

7) And of course you will meet some guys who think they are the best poker players in the world. They will comment every your turn and angry when you don't use their advices.

you will find the pace of one hand is very slow.
besides ...there is no multi-tabling.
if the table is full of drunk player, you will filled with dirty "FuXXX" something all the night, and the most important thing - You cannot mute that player's chat box. because it is live casino.

honest to say, live's winning rate is better than online, because sometimes a lot of weak players showing up.

True! I totally agree.

I love this post too.)) When I was at real casino I felt that drunked old mans surrounded me.) And felt that I really want this mute function which I always use at online poker rooms.

Hello everyone, when I learned to play Texas hold'em, I did it with friends, we put a spending limit for each one, some put their spending limit higher than others, and we bought the chips without having to reach the limit of Spending, that is, if we could spend 100, we bought 40 and we left the rest to try to recover in case we lost everything with what we entered.

In this way, one learns to see the face, the gestures, the manias of each person when they are bluffing or when they really have good cards, it is difficult to play that way and worse still with the same people, because just as you observe , They also observe your manias and gestures. In my Country, a few years ago, they banned casinos, but before that, I got to play at real tables, do not believe, that everyone who sits down to play at a table is because he's a poker pro, or know how to play, they may know the rules, but they do not know really how to play, much less when they are drunk, sometimes they only have money.

I won more than I lost at those tables, but I am far from being a professional, I know little statistics, but I have learned to have my "poker face" at least that I think :), I hope someday to have the Opportunity to play again like this, and maybe even face real poker professionals and see how it goes.

It's really different to play behind your computer, shirtless with a glass of water in hand, or eat while playing some potatoes or smoking a cigarette, whatever your hobby is when you play, it's different when you sit at a table, each hand goes slower , You can not be watching what time the next tournament you want to play begins, and you can not be in two, three, four tables at the same time, talking to the other players, etc, both things are fun, but they have to like you...

Well you cant see your Cards the whole time, could be a problem to check them every time before you make a move cause you are unsure about your hand. At least im afraid of making a stupid move only because i misread my hand.

I usually don't multi-table, and the slower speed live is fine for me. Live is more social and usually friendlier. I can talk a lot faster than I type.

First of all is that you are playing face to face with other players.this could be a benefit or not.the se cond is that its more difficult to have couples or a good hand.

You are really responsible player/) I know that much players are responsible too when they play online poker but they lose their heads when they play online poker. And sometimes you may see that guys with disaffected (absolutely not "poker") faces when they lose all thair manoy at casino. One more + for play online.) And again respect to you for your responsibility.

Casino even I never went. But in some poker houses I've played. And the difference is very big in my opinion of you playing online and in these houses. You find players who play in a much more serious way and it seems to me that the deck respects your moves much more often than online. Sometimes I see every player winning without a card any hahaha. I'd rather play in these houses.

I usually play home games and local tournaments weekly sometimes. And thats different compared with online poker. My home game is pretty fine because we improve together, not to steal till last penny from other. The local tournaments here, on the other hand, are filled with amateur players mostly. They do know strategies to play tour but in a very gambling way. And over-pot bet happen everywhere

You have the opportunity to see the gestures of your opponents, that could be a good thing, but they also see yours, also in the casinos the hands tends to be more long than in online poker but i like both styles

while playing online it doesnt take to long to get comfortable to making calls and bets when in RL you have actual pressure with eyes on your every move and the minimum online is penny's in RL its .50/1$ i beleive, havent played at those limits myself in quite a while but im pretty sure thats the minimum, anyways its the live play of having people reading and judging your every move hat makes it 10x as diffucult

Home games and casino games is absolutely different. I think you may find as mush differences between casino and home games as between online and casino games. And may be you may find even more differences.
I also played home poker game but I had different targen with it. I just wanted to have fun not to win money.

I agree with others in this post. Online you have the advantage of small buy ins with large payouts. Then Live it cost way more money for the big Guaranteed Tounaments but you do have the tell factor seing able to get a read off of body language. I personally like them both if I can find a reputable online poker room. Best of luck of the felt!!:) :) :D

This is a very big difference, because there are people who are out of my sight, or some other movement may issue received cards say good or bad, I have seen a few such situations and simply for people who are struggling to keep emotions better to play online.

And where does casinos? In the casino you can also play with a gun or a dealer or what not to see.
And so live and online poker are different of course.
Live you can watch the reaction of opponents , their actions ... and generally live a more exciting game.
