Beside's the money, Poker keep's my brain active, I enjoyed the social interaction when I went to Live events, and have travelled over 200 miles for a game, I have friend's who I didn't have before I started playing, and some have travelled over a thousand miles to Tournaments, all over Europe.
I hoped one day to do this myself but with the Pandemic and my Health restrictions, I feel more comfortable staying at home now.
I still enjoy my
poker games, and although I am now content playing On-line for low-stakes, I do miss my weekly Pub games and Quarterly Casino games, Yes! I played every 3 months in a Casino as a treat because the nearest was several miles away and most of the time If I went on my own I had to stay over night, so the expense of travelling and Hotel bills had to come from my
bankroll.
Poker is a lot more than just trying to make money, and if you can play with that kind of attitude it does'n't cost as much as people think, My on-line Poker pays for itself, because I have never made a deposit, and my Live event cashes have also paid for my hotels and travelling expenses.
Poker professional? Far from it, I prefer to call myself a Poker Enthusiast, I play for the pure pleasure the game gives me.
When the fun Stops, STOP!
(or pandemic hits!)
