I think he musta meant MOD age here,^^^^ he probly has a crush on juiceeQ and dakota-xx.Why u bring up median and mode is beyond me -- you want to be a statistician?
Ask Nick to show the numbers for this site, he has bdays for many members, sure it is part of regular data collection to sort these, along with gender, location, etc..
We have more older members than most forums I guess. A few of us are old enough to seriously skew the numbers upwards here; consider us outliers LOL...
Overall 23/Male is your mean or average online player I would think. Why u bring up median and mode is beyond me -- you want to be a statistician?

Nice idea, very interesting subject. We communicate regularly without having much of an idea of who we are talking to. It would be very nice to know more about the group in general. I guess I also qualify as an elder in this forum even though I don't think as myself as one.
Fascinating. While I can understand your curiosity from a sociological or marketing point of view, I don't get the part about profiling the competition using that information. Are you thinking that poker prowess correlates with age in some way? That would be great if the moderators can release these numbers. I am just curious to see who my competition is
And you answered your own question on why I would bring up median and mode. From what I understand a handful of high numbers can weigh the mean upwards and give an inaccurate depiction of the actual field of play.
I just checked and don't see anyway to get statistics based on age. A lot of members don't fill that out anyway.

Why not write to support at individual sites, especially the big ones? Tell them you're doing a study or something. While you're at it, why not ask about the male/female ratio too? If nothing else, finding out whether they would release such stats would be interesting. You could also contact the various magazines and other poker news media.

You'd probably have to query them from the SQL database
Yes there is a way of pulling that info for sure, from the database.
And Debi even if only 10% of 50,000 members gave a number, that is def statistically significant (and can be indicative of actual numbers)...
There would be bias in the results because anyone that is under-aged would not put their real age.
That can be taken into account, as could the seniors or women (lol) who knock down their age. Any bias (and possible numbers associated) can be included in the analysis.
Bias does not stop one from using stat samples, but does qualify them. That is good when acknowledged.
Lets try to work with the numbers we have.... I mean err.. which we dont have yet but are there somewhere...
