Do you prefer tournament or cash?

My Thoughts is that it’s very nice to win a tournament. However, it’s very difficult to play very good and advance a lot in the tournament then be busted. Sometimes you spend 2 days playing and all is gone in one hand. It’s very frustrating.

MTTs, because I join late and only play for long sessions if I run deep.

If I lose quickly, I only invested 10 - 15 minutes of my (precious) time. ;)

I prefer tournaments because I get more pleasure and euphoria in them than in cash games.

I agree that a tournament feels more like "the real deal", that's why I prefer tournaments. To many people it is also important that in a tournament your losses are limited by your buy-in. While in a cash game, you can lose everything in the worst case.

Tournament is better for me than cash. At the tournament, I feel more confident.

Tournaments are very fishy compared to cash games. I prefer cash, but do a lot better in tournaments - its just the time they take to play.

I prefer cashgames, although I am not very profitable there. (in the beginning I busted 2 times my bankroll). The main advantage for me is to come and go whenever I want, and if I feel uncomfortable at the table I can change them.
I expierienced more and more when it is worth to stay at a table, be patient and catch the fish.
More fun is MTT. Here I am profitable because I play mostly freerolls. (thanks to CC) but it takes time..

I dislike cash, far to easy to lose your bankroll. Tournaments can be too long however.

I prefer tournaments over cash. Yes the variance can be less but cash for me is playing for cash. I play tournaments for the thrill of winning the whole thing. Yes the cash is inportant but its about the competition for me.

It's interesting to play in a tournament, but it's also harder, and the prizes are larger, well, the tournament requires special attention, I love KO tournaments, there is an opportunity to get cash back along the way [emoji3][emoji2][emoji3]

Exactly, especially in low level games, spend 4 hrs to get .75 cents. Cash game can get you $1 in 5min but can also loose your stack. If new to poker, low level tournaments are great to learn basics of poker but not proper play as it is too erratic. Low ante cash games are also good learning vehicles. Once you have the skills I think cash games are the best if you want an income playing poker.

I like both. It is certainly a great feeling when you go deep into a tournament but it is a tough grind. Cash games are easier to plan because you leave the game at any time. Bankroll management is always important but probably more important if you play cash because you can easily bust several buy ins in a short time. Disclipine is so important in cash games.

It’s really very frustrating.

Poker is a good hobby but not a good job.

It will hurt when you too serious.

Playing lower buy-in tournaments your will fell better.

At the beginning, I played cash games, won, lost... I went into the red, got upset and quit the game. Now I play exclusively in MTT. I'm starting to more or less understand the philosophy of the game. I used to play for luck, now I try for skill.

No matter how much I play, I hate cash tables, they are quickly merged than to win. And I realized that tournaments are the safest way to earn money, you can play without risk.

I prefer cash games. can come and go when you please. mtt's can be fun, but like you said, nothing sucks more than grinding for 6hrs only to bust 3 off the min cash, or worse yet grind for 10hrs only to finish 13th for 2.5x your buy-in.

If I want to make a few dollars it's cash, preferably live cash. If you're decent Friday and Saturday nights at most casinos can pay well. However, I'm usually playing Micro and Low stakes tournaments online.

Tournament. With low buy in, gives me the opportunity to play a lot and practice without risking a lot of the bank roll.

I prefer tournaments because of my style of playing. I usually play tight and for have success in cash games you need to play more aggressively, especialy in the 6-max tables.

I like MTT cause it is more fun and you start at even ground and can win more money. I do like cash games though I might possibly be better at that though might have to play it more. With cash games the blinds never go up and you can be sitting at a table with somebody that is deep stack which puts you at an disadvantage.
