I'm more prone to the cash games myself. I can play in tournaments and do quite well, but then ADD takes over and I get bored. The tournaments are just too long for my attention span. I can play cash games and get out when my attention span starts to drift.

It makes sense, what you say, but that's why a poker tournament requires patience and free time.
There is not always plenty of work to do, but whoever thinks that it is better to play some poker tournaments without rebuys and addons😀:joyman:

I am not a fan of tournament poker. Television has made tournament poker look glamorous and like a competition where skill prevails. However, the truth of the matter is that lucks plays a much larger factor in tournaments than in ring games. Think about this way: at a regular no-limit game, if you started with $ 2,000 what is the chance that you would end up with $ 2 million before the night was over? Zero. However, to win a tounament where awake player has 2k starting chips and 1,000 people enter, you would need to win two million in chips to win the tournament. Not an easy feat to do unless lady luck truly smiled upon that day!

Tournaments limit your losses, take longer (so more time for your money) and it's a level playing field at the start. Cash games can mean that the player with the most money to lose gets to bully the table.

It does not matter, the stock of money is needed both there and there, the skill is needed both there and there. Try everything, then you'll stop at something yourself.

I prefer tournaments. Although cash is more convenient for me now, you can end the tournament at any time, sit down to play at any time, not be tied in time. But despite these advantages, I play tournaments with great passion.

MTT's require a lot of self discipline, patience and planning if you are a serious player. You should consider the time of the tournament, the level at which you feel you are comfortable playing at and that should mirror your buy in, your bank roll and also plan ahead for the length of time that tournament could take - if you are a competent player and have made final tables before - you will know these can take several hours and sometimes even more than one day with specific tourneys.
Stretch, check your posture, use the breaks effectively, keep hydrated and eat where you can - all these little things can add up to that missing % to make you change from a recreational player into a winning player or a better equipped emotionally and physically kind of player.

for tournaments you need a big bank roll for cash it is not needed, I like tournaments more, but if you need to raise a couple of bucks I go to cash Omaha

I'm more of an action cash player, but I want to be able to hang with the best of them in tournaments too. I have to limit myself from being in every hand though. I love seeing every flop that will be costly playing tournaments. I have to learn the basics as far as equity, percentage, when it's profitable to go in with my hand. Make sure I not only cash, but aim for the final table each tournament.

Turbo tournaments are interesting, they don't take long and they make good money at once and the loss isn't that much.

I simply like both! I don´t like the turbo tournaments, I prefer deep stack mixed game tournaments. But I also enjoy Cash Games!

With gloomy and rainy weather what do you suggest?Cash game or tournament?
In order not to get bored waiting for the best hand, to raise your mood in cloudy or rainy weather, I suggest you play dynamic Omaha

I play both too. It just depends if I want to commit to something for hours upon hours or if I want the freedom to get up when I have something else to do. A nice medium is a single table S&G tourney.

I always play tournaments. I tried kesh, but they still beat me there with different styles of play. Better to play what you do and not rush about. There are few players who can combine these two types of poker games.:jd4::):jd4:

Personally, I am a tournament player, I have a few cash games, I could not suggest what to play. Sometimes I play cash games but I finish quickly, I play more accurately until it's all in and then I either double or finish

On-line, Tournament or Ring games, Live, Cash games, the difference is I am usually playing higher stakes when playing Live and can read most of my opponents I come up against, On-line however I only play for fun as I don't want to lose a bundle of cash when something happens to my Laptop or Internet connection which has cost me games in the past.
It is not that I don't trust the poker sites, It is the Internet I am most afraid of and of course my cheap Laptop.

When the fun Stops, STOP!

I really began to play tournaments on a daily schedule. Lately, I have become very bored. I am trying to transition back to more of a cash game schedule. Some days it seems I have lost my passion for the game. This is worrying, I have put much time and energy into poker, I have become a profitable player, suddenly I just stopped putting in the time.
