Playing in a $20/9 player now. There is one player who is in 34 seperate tourneys at once, and is shown as Registering in every $20 and $30 9 player listed.

He's made over $80k playing $30 and below tourneys.

Think Pokerstars asked him to make a UTube video too?

he's probly just maximizing tables to grind FPPs

So what you're saying is that reading your opponents really doesn't provide much of an advantage and that there is so little strategy involved that if you weight your hands properly you can win without much thought.

Is it just me, or doesn't that sound like the characterstics of a bot?

I kind of have to side with Chris on this one... but let me clarify. I don't think that strategy and reads per say are completlely useless, but it's way different than in a live game. Personally speaking, most of the "reads" I get on other players are based on the stats that are collected by my PTO and shown on the tables using my HUD. Now, without use of these tools, I would agree that you could be putting yourself at a big disadvantage. However, with them, you can usually tell at a glance what kind of players you're going up against. I would assume that the vast majority of people play 8 tables and up are using these.

Back to who started this thread... Do bots exist? Sure. But don't make the assumption that just becasue someone is 12-tabling that they are a bot. Heck, I can now 6-table $.25 NL Omaha Hi-Lo comfortably, and I'm still within my first years of playing seriously. Sure, when I started I would only go 2 at a time, but the more hands you see the more tables you can effectively play at once. So, I can easily see someone doing 12-15 in Holdem since you can make an assessment on your hand much quicker than in O8. Now, I do have hard time believing that there are a bunch of people that can do 30+ at a time and be THAT profitable. Most likely that at least some of those are using bots.

I 8 table SNG's all the time. Don't use PTO's, HUD or anything like that. I just have the ability to quickly disect information at the table. Recognizing patterns, etc. etc. Still prefer to 4 table cash game, but my SNG game has gotten a lot better in the recent month.

Multi-table players

I'm not trying to imply that everyone playing 4, 8, 12 tourneys/tables at once is a bot.

I see people playing them all the time, have discussions with them in the chat window and their profits (according to sharkscope) are reasonable.

But when I see one player (and since I'm new to this forum I'm not sure if the forum rules allow posting the name) playing in 34 tournaments at once, and listed as being registered in EVERY $20 and $30 sng, with a profit over $80,000, I begin to wonder.

As I mentioned before, don't take my word for it.

If you have sharkscope (or some other db), open up a $20, $30 or $50 tourney and sharkscope it using the tournamentID.

On a sidenote, sharkscope can report inaccurate results for the "Current Games" feature. It will often show a person in more tournaments than they actually are, so be sure to look them up on pokerstars instead to get an accurate count on the number of tourneys.

Are all these players bots? Damned if I know.

Thought the limit was 24, or is that just cash tables?

Pokerstars imposes a 24 cash table limit and no limit on the tourneys.

A "person" can play 200 at a time if they like.
