J8s is "better" than 4-4 in this sense:

I'll either flop "something" (this something being a draw) or I'm never ahead. There is no hand that a TAG will raise from early or middle position that J8 can beat unimproved. And if I flop a draw, the LP will be there in last position to pad the pot for me and make my draw not hurt completely if I decide to continue.

4-4 may well be the best hand post-flop and I still fold it. What do I do if the flop comes 7-7-2? Icky situation.

any thread i view that has a FP post in it is sticky after i get done with it, if you know what i mean..
