I love the game. Played a few variations of it ever since I was a kid and started playing holdem about 10 years ago. I wanted to become better at the game so I've put alot of time and study into the game and certainly bettered myself.

My first goal was to solidify myself as a winning player - I feel I have accomplished that. Next it will be time to set a new goal! Which will likely be turn my love for poker into a profitable recreational side hustle. I enjoy trying to help others and am currently coaching 2 people. I hope to see them succeed as well.

Direct answer - I play because I love the game and I like to earn money doing sosomething I enjoy.

Playing for money online gets harder every year over the lowest levels (and due to the small buy-ins a high rake it can be hard even there) . Live is still soft of course but it takes a lot of time and preparation so it is no option for steady money if you don't live close to a casino/home game).

I loved mathematics from school, now sometimes it’s a plus to my main income! I like tournament poker more because of emotions, of course when top1 is more!

Just forgive me, if you don't like my answer.
I play for money. I earn from poker. Not much, but it helps me to handle some of my financial obligations.
I don't think that there is luck involved in poker. I believe poker is a 100% skilled game.
I don't use tools or software. I depend on common sense and work on the situations i face. If in any session, if i lose, i lose due to my faulty decisions or may be i was unable to read the situation properly.

As a new player, what attracted me to the game in the first place wasn't a dream to make money, it was just for fun. I'm more of a statistics type thinker and this game appeals to that side with chance, luck, percentages and having the skill to think this way on your feet. So for me it's like an intellectual, challenging kind of fun that feels very rewarding when I make the right play.

Another reason is that deceit and lying are things that are frowned upon in society, so having a harmless game that not allows that but also rewards it is also a bit of a thrill.

Simply enjoy playing cards. Every since I young it has been fun. Euchre and poker has consumed a lot more time than I'll admit too. All in all, not a bad hobby to hang on too.

This is what I often ask myself, i have to think about this for a long time, there are many reasons. I don't know, maybe in a nutshell it's a lifestyle. I think I'll always play poker in some form.
