Thanks! But I'm really looking more for general advice on how you would make a living under the circumstances we have here. Thanks anyway though.
Well I live in a much better location than TX with 3 active poker rooms in my city, BUT I know a few pros who live here. They do not play here though (or rarely) - they travel the circuit. Apparently the players in this town are so bad (or style of play) the pros want nothing to do with it and are constantly on the road or coaching locally when not traveling.
This guy is a pro that lives in Austin - Cardrunners instructor - looking at his blog, he does some travel (understatement)

LOCATION: AUSTIN, TX
Brystmar is a native Texan and a CardRunners instructor since 2007. He started learning poker in 2004 and became one of the best multitabling small-stakes NLHE players before developing into a winning 3-6 and 5-10 player. In April 2008, in search of a new challenge and softer games, he took up PLO, and he currently plays mid-stakes PLO on both Full Tilt and
pokerstars.
Brystmar is also an accomplished tournament player. His biggest win came in November of 2008 when he took down the FTP Sunday $215 tournament, outlasting 3643 players for $132,000. He final tabled the 2008 Wynn Poker Classic, and went deep in the $10K LA Poker Classic before taking a bad beat to bust.
Aside from poker, Brystmar is a music fanatic with a love of the progressive rock genre. His greatest musical passion is in analyzing and recreating complex rhythms, and he plans to purchase a full drum kit when he finally moves into a house with a garage. He's also a dedicated beer geek and a USPA-certified skydiver.
